Guoya Sunrise Introduction
Guohai Sunrise is one of the famous old Eight Scenic Spots in Penghu. Guohai Village is located on the northwestern sand dune slopes, home to a grove of yellow rose mallow trees, which are commonly known as guohai, hence the name. This grove of guohai trees remains evergreen throughout the seasons, blooming with yellow flowers in spring and summer, making it very lush. Facing the seaside to the east, Guohai Village offers a broad view where the sea meets the sky, making it a well-known spot for watching the sunrise. Climbing up the Sunrise Viewing Pavilion provides the best angle to appreciate the sunrise. Especially on fine days, when gazing towards the eastern seaside, the red sun rises slowly from the ocean surface, as the sky transitions from dark and gray to orange-red, with the golden sun emerging above the horizon. In an instant, the entire sea sparkles with a bright orange reflection from the sun, and the unique eroded terrain by the beach enhances this spectacle. When the sunlight reflects on the eroded landscape, the fragmented stones resemble diamonds floating on the ocean, glimmering with golden spots. The entire sea resembles a samurai clad in golden armor, rushing towards you with golden waves, creating a breathtaking beauty. During the sunrise, on a clear day with no clouds in sight, one can even see the distant island of Taiwan, with the outlines of the Central Mountain Range clearly visible. 【Recommended stay time】 1.5 hours
