Guoye Sunrise Introduction
Guohai Sunrise is one of the famous old eight scenic spots in Penghu. Guohai Village is located on the sandy slopes in the northwest, featuring a grove of Yellow Mallow trees, which are commonly known as Guohai. This grove remains evergreen throughout the seasons, with yellow flowers blooming abundantly in spring and summer. The eastern side of Guohai Village faces the sea, offering a broad view of the horizon, making it a well-known spot for watching the sunrise. Climbing up the Sunrise Pavilion provides the best angle for viewing the sunrise. Particularly during good weather, when gazing eastward towards the sea, the red sun gradually rises from the surface of the ocean, transforming the previously dark sky into shades of orange and red. The golden sun rises above the horizon, casting a brilliant orange reflection across the water. The special eroded landscape along the beach amplifies this effect, as sunlight reflects off the fragmented rocks, creating a diamond-like sparkle on the surface of the sea. The entire scene resembles a warrior draped in golden armor, charging through golden waves, presenting an astonishingly beautiful sight. When the sunrise is observed under clear skies with no clouds, the distant outline of Taiwan and the Central Mountain Range can be clearly seen. [Suggested stay duration] 1.5 hours.
