Guoye Sunrise Introduction
Guoye Sunrise is one of the famous Eight Scenic Spots of Penghu. Guoye Village is located on the sandy hills in the northwest, where there is a grove of yellow hibiscus trees, which are commonly known as Guoye, hence the name. This grove of Guoye trees is evergreen throughout the year, blooming with yellow flowers in spring and summer, making it quite lush. The eastern side of Guoye Village faces the sea, offering a vast view where the sky meets the ocean, making it a well-known spot for watching the sunrise. Climbing up the Sunrise Viewing Pavilion provides the best vantage point for appreciating the sunrise. Especially on clear weather days, looking towards the eastern seaside, the red sun slowly rises from the sea surface, transforming the originally dark gray sky into shades of orange and red, while the golden sun emerges from the horizon. Instantly, the entire sea surface is illuminated by the golden sun with a bright orange reflection, enhanced by the unique erosion terrain on the beach. When the sunlight's reflection is cast onto the eroded formations, the reflected light on the rocks, due to the fragmented erosion, looks like diamonds floating on the sea surface, shining with spots of gold. The entire sea appears as if clad in golden armor, rushing towards you with golden waves, presenting a breathtaking beauty! At sunrise, if the weather is good and the sky is clear, one can see the distant outline of Taiwan's Central Mountain Range clearly. 【Recommended duration of stay】 1.5 hours
