Guoye Sunrise Introduction
Guaye Sunrise is one of the famous Eight Scenic Views of Penghu. Located on the northwest side of Guaye Village, there is a forest of yellow oleander trees, which are commonly known as Guaye. This area is evergreen all year round, with vibrant yellow flowers blooming in spring and summer. The eastern side of Guaye Village faces the sea, offering an expansive view that makes it a well-known spot for watching sunrises. Climbing up the Sunrise Viewing Pavilion provides an elevated perspective, ideal for enjoying the sunrise. Especially on clear days, witnessing the red sun slowly rising from the sea is a breathtaking sight. The sky transforms from deep black and gray to shades of orange and red as the golden sun rises above the horizon. In an instant, the entire sea is illuminated by the sun's golden reflection, creating a striking orange glow. The unique erosion-formed beach terrain adds to the spectacle, as the sunlight reflects off the fragmented rocks, resembling diamonds floating on the surface of the sea, twinkling in golden hues. The sea appears as if a warrior cloaked in golden armor is charging through the golden waves, creating a mesmerizing beauty. At sunrise, on clear days with no clouds, one can even see the distant outline of Taiwan's Central Mountain Range. [Recommended stay time: 1.5 hours]
