Longmen Village Shita Introduction
Appearance of Shigandang: Stele-shaped Shigandang Inscription: Symbol Total Height: 4.34m Circumference: 31.2m Construction Form: Conical Shape Decorative Top: Gourd The location of Longmen Houwan Beach, flanked by Dongbitou and Longgang Mountain, forms a depression where waves crashing seem to attack the village, bringing negative energy that adversely affects the residents. Therefore, a tower was built to manage the water and counter the malevolent energy. It is said that during the construction, living chickens were used in sacrifices and were placed at the bottom of the tower. At that time, the top of the stone tower had no decorations and was open to the bottom, leading the village elders to recall that as children, they would visit the vicinity of the stone tower, curious to peer through the gaps in the tower to see if there were indeed any objects inside, which was quite amusing. Notably, the eight protruding feet at the base represent the idea of controlling the eight directions, hence it is also called the "Bagua Tower."
