Xiji Island Introduction

Xiji Islet, also known as Xiji Island, is an island in the Penghu archipelago of Taiwan. It serves as an important point in the Taitung-Penghu shipping route. Administratively, it was once part of Xi Ji Village in Wangan Township, Penghu County (now a discontinued village). It is now part of the planned South Four Islands Marine National Park (which includes Dongji Islet, Xiji Islet, Dongyuping Islet, and Xiyuping Islet). It is located approximately 4.5 kilometers from Dongji Islet. Due to its remote location and inconvenient transportation, residents face difficulties in making a living, leading to a sharp population decline, and the government assisted in the relocation of residents on July 1, 1978.
