Xijiyu Introduction

Xiji Islet, also known as Xiji Island, is an island in the Penghu archipelago of Taiwan. It serves as an important point on the Ta-Peng Channel and was previously part of Xiji Village in Wang-an Township, Penghu County (now abolished). It is currently part of the planned South Four Islands Marine National Park of Penghu (which includes Dongjiyu, Xijiyu, Dongyupingyu, and Xiyupingyu). Xiji Islet is located approximately 4.5 kilometers away from Dongjiyu. Due to its remote location and inconvenient transportation, residents face difficulties in making a living, resulting in a significant population decline, and the government assisted in village relocation on July 1, 1978.
