Chimei - White Horse Park Introduction
Baimahu Park, also known as Baimapo, is located along the road in the Dingxi Scenic Area. When cycling from the Shuangxin Stone Weir on the northern side of Little Taiwan, you can see a park on the right side, marked by a large red ball (Red Dragon Pearl) close to the roadside. The surrounding geographical environment is barren, with scant vegetation, and the ground shows traces of erosion caused by flowing water, while the coastline features pebble beaches. Some areas of Baimahu Park have been barren for years, hence its nickname "Little Moon World." Here, there is a feng shui wall that extends into a path resembling a bridge; at the end, you can see a giant red dragon pearl, a statue of a white horse draped in red cloth, and a gourd. This white horse statue serves as a Stone Guardian, protecting the vital water veins of Qimei Township, and there is an altar beside the horse for designated worship times. Additionally, the large red dragon pearl is used to block the drainage outlets, representing feng shui meaning for controlling water and locking wealth. In the park, small grass patches can occasionally host half-day birds (the bird of Penghu County). Crossing the road, you can see the badlands on the other side, where you can observe holes and traces of erosion, along with a distant view of the Jindlong Pagoda on a high point. It is common to see flocks of sheep playing and strolling in Baimahu Park, and there is a pavilion nearby where you can sit and listen to the natural music created by the sea waves crashing against the shore. [Recommended duration of stay] 1 hour.
