Dacangyu Introduction
Daceng Islet is located at the center of Penghu, surrounded by the main island of Penghu, Baisha Island, and Wuyong Island, earning it the nickname "Inner Sea Pearl." It is classified as a second-class outlying island and can be explored on foot or by bicycle. The overall terrain is higher in the north and lower in the south, with steep sea cliffs made of basalt columns on the northeast sides, and gentle slopes entering the sea on the southwest side. The entire island is surrounded by intertidal zones and wave-cut platforms. Visitors can enjoy views of various attractions such as the Mazu Temple in Makung, the wind turbines in Zhongtun on Baisha Island, and the Southwest Cross-Harbor Bridge, or visit the米白色 shell sand beach on the west side of Daceng Fishing Port, a must-visit spot for tourists to splash in the waves. The island is surrounded by vast wave-cut platforms, which have significant area differences between high and low tide, offering rich intertidal marine resources where visitors can experience the fun of catching fish and crabs. The residents of Daceng Islet live a simple life, relying on daily necessities brought over from Makung. Due to population outflow, Daceng Elementary School was closed in August 2005, and education and daily life on the island are now closely connected with Makung. 【Recommended stay duration】3-4 hours.
