Daqiu Island Introduction
Daceng Island is located in the center of Penghu, surrounded by Penghu Main Island, Baisha Island, and Wang-an Island, earning it the nickname "Pearl of the Inner Sea." It is classified as a second-level offshore island, and visitors can explore the entire island on foot or by bicycle. The overall terrain is higher in the north and lower in the south, with steep sea cliffs made of basalt columns on the northeast sides, while the southwest features a gentle slope leading to the sea. The island is surrounded by intertidal zones and sea-eroded platforms. Around the island, visitors can admire attractions such as Magong Guanyin Pavilion, the wind turbines in Zhongtun on Baisha Island, and the Xiyu Cross-Sea Bridge. To the west of Daceng Fishing Port, there is a unique beige sandy beach with shell fragments where tourists can enjoy splashing in the waves, making it a must-visit spot. The area around the island features vast sea-eroded platforms, which exhibit significant differences in area between high and low tides, providing abundant intertidal marine resources. Visitors can experience the joy of fishing and crab-catching here. The residents of Daceng Island lead simple lives, as all necessary daily supplies must be brought over from Magong Main Island. Due to population migration, Daceng Elementary School was closed in August 2005, and both education and daily life on the island are now closely tied to Magong Main Island. 【Recommended duration of stay】3-4 hours.
