Main Deity: Zhenwu Emperor Festival Date: Third day of the third month in the lunar calendar Immigrants from the area around Kinmen, Fujian settled in this community during the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, venerating the Golden Body of General Liu for protection. In the 38th year of the Kangxi Era (1699), a small temple was initially constructed at this site in the 8th month of the Year of the Rabbit. In the 25th year of the Qianlong Era (1760), the temple was rebuilt, adding statues of other deities, and was designated as Chenwei Temple. Over the years, it has undergone four major renovations. In the 53rd year of the Republic (1964), the initiators Chen Peng and Li Yu convened discussions for the fifth renovation. The auspicious date for the start of the renovation was chosen as the 8th day of the third month in the 54th year of the Republic (1965) at the hour of the Snake. On the 5th day of the first month in the 55th year of the Republic (1966) at the hour of the Monkey, the sacred deity was ceremoniously welcomed into the newly renovated temple, completing the project over the years.
