Established in 1922, Hsinchu Senior High School built a martial arts hall in 1926 for use as a gymnasium and as a training ground for fencing, cultivating a top-notch kendo team known throughout Taiwan. This martial arts hall is commonly referred to as the Kendo Hall. Due to its high-quality design and construction, although the roof was later replaced with corrugated steel due to damage, it still retains its ancient style.
