National Tsing Hua University Introduction
Casually enjoying a cool day at National Tsing Hua University in Hsinchu, this time I’d like to share must-visit spots on campus! To commemorate the first president of National Tsing Hua University, Mei Yi-Chi, there is a “Mei Garden” located on the hillside of the campus. The garden is filled with plum trees, and during the blooming season, it attracts many visitors for plum viewing, or for daily strolls where people can relax in the pavilion and enjoy the shade while escaping the heat. Inside Tsing Hua University, there exists a secret passage that allows one to instantly cross to National Chiao Tung University. This small path is still a subject of debate—should it be called "Qing-Jiao Path" or "Jiao-Qing Path"? Each university's students have their own terminology, resulting in "Qing-Jiao Path" for the direction from Tsing Hua to Chiao Tung, and "Jiao-Qing Path" for the direction from Chiao Tung to Tsing Hua. The sight of two signs standing side by side is quite amusing. Near Baoshan Road at the south gate of Tsing Hua University, there stands a giant "Bauhinia Leaf" sculpture on a field. The rust-colored leaves have oxidized over time, blending beautifully into the landscape. Many people come here to take photos to capture the light and memories. A little secret shared among students is that this art piece is jokingly referred to as "Lung Slice", as it does bear a resemblance from afar.
