Gongbei Temple Introduction
Located in Gongbei Temple, Xizhi District, New Taipei City, it is a famous spot for viewing maple leaves. Every year, from late November to late December, the mountains are covered in the red foliage of maple trees, attracting a large number of visitors. Coupled with the allure of the food scene in the alleys of Xizhi, popular eateries are bustling on weekends. Gongbei Temple is a century-old temple in New Taipei City, with the earliest structure built in 1906. The entrance takes the form of a shrine's torii gate, and after crossing the red Bihanjiao Bridge and passing by traditional Japanese stone lanterns, you will arrive at the recently popular Double Arched Bridge. This bridge features a beautiful and quaint design, making it a favored spot for wedding photography. With the maple leaves coloring the mountains post-cold front, visitors can experience the poetic charm of autumn without needing to travel to Japan. Gongbei Temple has several hiking trails, and following the stone steps up to Chuanliuting offers a panoramic view of Xizhi City and the distant mountain scenery. Besides exploring Gongbei Temple, enjoying delicious food on the streets of Xizhi is equally important. The Eight Treasures Vermicelli with its flavorful broth allows mountain hikers to enjoy delicious snacks at a reasonable price. The renowned Vietnamese restaurant, Meng Ji, is hard to book on weekends, serving a variety of tropical flavors that are worth the visit. There are also numerous restaurants to choose from near Xike Station. If you play late, the Xizhi Night Market located on New Taipei Road No. 5 is a great spot to satisfy your hunger!
