Gongbei Temple Introduction
Located in Gongbei Temple, Xizhi District, New Taipei City, it is a famous maple viewing spot. Every year, from late November to late December, the mountains covered with "maple trees" attract a large number of visitors to enjoy the red leaves. Coupled with the charming local delicacies in the alleys of Xizhi, the popular restaurants are bustling on weekends. Gongbei Temple is a century-old temple in New Taipei City, with the earliest temple built in 1906. The entrance features a torii gate in the style of a Shinto shrine. Crossing the red Bridge of the Other Shore, one encounters the recently popular Double Arch Bridge, known for its beautiful and elegant design, making it a favorite spot for wedding photos. With the vibrant red maples following a cold front, visitors can experience the exquisite autumn scenery without traveling to Japan. Gongbei Temple also offers multiple hiking trails. Following the stone steps up to Chuanliuting, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Xizhi City and the distant mountains. Besides exploring Gongbei Temple, indulging in local delicacies on Xizhi Street is also essential. The delicious Eight Treasure Vermicelli with its flavorful broth allows mountain friends to enjoy tasty snacks at affordable prices. The popular Ming Ji Vietnamese restaurant, often hard to get a table at on weekends, offers a variety of tropical flavors with sweet and sour tastes. There are plenty of dining options on the streets near Xike station, and if the fun lasts too late, the Xizhi Night Market on XinTai 5th Road is a great place to fill your stomach!
