Gongbei Temple Introduction
Located in the Gongbei Temple in Xizhi District, New Taipei City, it is a famous place for viewing maple leaves. From late November to late December each year, the mountains are filled with the red foliage of "maple trees," attracting a large number of visitors. Coupled with the charming local cuisine in the alleys of Xizhi, popular eateries are often bustling during holidays. Gongbei Temple is a century-old shrine in New Taipei City, with the original temple built in 1906. The entrance to the mountain uses a torii gate style, where visitors can cross the red bridge and meet Japanese stone lanterns, leading to the recently popular Shuanggong Bridge. The elegant and quaint design of Shuanggong Bridge makes it a popular spot for wedding photos, enhanced by the beautiful red maple leaves after a cold front, allowing you to experience the poetic beauty of autumn without flying to Japan. Gongbei Temple has several hiking trails; by following the stone steps up to Chuanliuting, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Xizhi urban area and the distant mountains. In addition to exploring Gongbei Temple, tasting local food on Xizhi Street is also important. The delicious broth of the eight-treasure glass noodles offers affordable tasty snacks for hikers. The highly sought-after Vietnamese restaurant featuring sweet and sour tropical flavors, with diverse choices, is worth a visit. There are also several restaurants on the streets near Xikou Station for you to choose from. If you stay out late, the Xizhi Night Market on XinTai 5th Road is a great place to satisfy your hunger!
