Gongbei Temple Introduction
Located in the Gongbei Temple in Xizhi District, New Taipei City, it is a famous destination for viewing cherry blossoms. From late November to late December every year, the mountains filled with maple trees turn red, attracting a large number of visitors. Coupled with the charm of the local eateries in the alleys of Xizhi, popular establishments become quite lively on weekends. Gongbei Temple, a century-old temple in New Taipei City, was first built in 1906, featuring a shrine gate-style entrance. After crossing the red Bihanjiao bridge and passing by the Japanese stone lanterns, one arrives at the recently popular Double Arch Bridge. The elegant and quaint design of the Double Arch Bridge is a favorite spot for wedding photo shoots, enhanced by the brilliant maple leaves after a cold front, allowing visitors to enjoy the poetic essence of autumn without having to fly to Japan. Gongbei Temple also offers multiple hiking trails. Following the stone steps upwards leads to Chuanliu Pavilion, where one can enjoy panoramic views of the Xizhi cityscape and distant mountains. Besides exploring Gongbei Temple, indulging in local delicacies on the streets of Xizhi is equally important. The Ba Bao winter noodles with delicious broth provide affordable tasty snacks for mountain hikers. The popular Vietnamese restaurant, Ming Ji, is famous for its flavorful subtropical dishes and diverse options, making it worth the visit. In the streets near Xike Station, there are also several restaurants to choose from, and if you're out too late, the Xizhi Night Market on XinTai 5th Road is a great place to fill your stomach!
