Gongbei Temple Introduction
Located in Gongbei Temple, Xizhi District, New Taipei City, it is a famous spot for viewing maple leaves. Every year, from late November to late December, the mountains, adorned with the red foliage of maples, attract a large number of visitors. Coupled with the charm of the local food in the alleys of Xizhi, famous restaurants are bustling during the weekends. Gongbei Temple, a century-old temple in New Taipei City, was originally built in 1906. The entrance, designed in the style of a Shinto shrine, leads through a red "heavenly bridge" that encounters a Japanese stone lantern, allowing visitors to arrive at the recently popular Double Arch Bridge. This bridge is beautifully shaped and quaint, making it a favorite location for wedding photos. With the mountains filled with maple red after a cold front, one can experience the poetic beauty of autumn without flying to Japan. Gongbei Temple offers multiple hiking trails. By following the stone steps upwards to Chuanliu Pavilion, one can enjoy a panoramic view of Xizhi City and the distant mountains. Besides walking around Gongbei Temple, it is also important to sample local delicacies in the streets of Xizhi. The Eight Treasure Vermicelli, known for its delicious soup base, allows hikers to enjoy tasty snacks at a reasonable price. The highly sought-after Ming Ji Vietnamese Restaurant serves diverse and tangy tropical flavors, making it worthwhile to visit. There are also several restaurants along streets near Xike Station for various dining options. If you stay out late, the Xizhi Tourist Night Market on Xin Tai 5th Road is a great place to satisfy your hunger!
