Gongbei Temple Introduction
Located at Gongbei Temple in Xizhi District, New Taipei City, it is a famous place for enjoying maple leaves. Every year, from late November to late December, the mountains adorned with "maple trees" attract a large number of visitors. Coupled with the charm of the food alleys in Xizhi, popular restaurants are bustling during the holidays. Gongbei Temple is a century-old temple in New Taipei City, with the earliest building established in 1906. The entrance follows the style of a Shinto shrine's torii gate, leading through the red "Bihanchiao" bridge where one encounters Japanese stone lanterns, and then arrives at the recently popular Shuanggong Bridge. The Shuanggong Bridge, with its elegant and ancient style, is a favored spot for wedding photography, offering an exquisite experience of autumn's poetry without needing to fly to Japan, especially when the mountains are adorned in vibrant maple colors after the cold front passes. Gongbei Temple has several trails for hiking; by ascending the stone steps, one can reach Chuanliuting for a panoramic view of Xizhi City and the distant mountains. Besides exploring Gongbei Temple, enjoying delicious food on the streets of Xizhi is also important. The Eight Treasure Vermicelli with its tasty broth allows hikers to enjoy affordable snacks, while the highly sought-after Vietnamese restaurant Ming Ji offers a variety of flavors with its sweet and sour tropical dishes. With diverse choices, it is worth a visit. There are also several dining options along the streets near Xike Station, and if you stay out too late, the Xizhi Night Market on Xin Taipei Fifth Road is a great place to fill your stomach!
