Neigou Mountain - Cuihu Trail Introduction
The Cuihu Trail connects to the Neigou Mountain Trail in Xizhi, attracting many visitors during the tung blossom season for flower viewing and hiking. The trail is mostly a flat and easy-to-walk dirt path, which can be accessed from the second entrance of the Neigou Mountain Trail. The Cuihu Trail was originally an access path for early mining activities and became overgrown after the mine was abandoned. After renovations, it was transformed into a hiking trail. Along the way, visitors can see the remains of the Beigang No. 2 Mining Site, which was once an important coal mine in Xizhi. After its abandonment, vines gradually covered the traces of the original mine, and now only the remnants of walls can hint at the glory of the mining site. Additionally, there is the Guangming Lake, which was once a water reservoir for miners. Although it appears small and miniature today, it was an important water source for the miners in its heyday.
