Neigou Mountain Cuihu Trail Introduction
The Cuifeng Trail connects to the Neigou Mountain Trail in Xizhi, attracting many visitors during the tung flower season for scenic walks and flower viewing. The trail predominantly consists of gently sloping and easy-to-walk dirt paths, with access to Cuifeng from the second entrance of the Neigou Mountain Trail. Originally a connection path for early mining activities, the Cuifeng Trail fell into disrepair after the mine was closed, but has since been renovated and transformed into a hiking trail. Along the way, visitors can see the remains of the Beigang Erkeng Mine, which was an important coal mine in Xizhi in earlier times. After its abandonment, vines gradually covered the signs of the former mine, and today only the crumbling walls remain, offering a glimpse into the mine's past glory. Additionally, there is the "Cuifeng," which used to be a water reservoir for miners. Although it appears small and unassuming today, it was once a crucial water source for the miners.
