Dajian Mountain Scenic Area Introduction
Dajian Mountain, with an elevation of 460 meters, is a famous suburban mountain in the Xizhi area known for its beautiful scenery, often referred to as the backyard garden of Xizhi. Dajian Mountain transforms its appearance with the changing seasons; cherry blossoms bloom in early spring, fireflies light up during summer, and the maple leaves turn red in late autumn. The surrounding waterfalls, including Dajian Waterfall, Ciedong Waterfall, and Xiufeng Waterfall, are also worth seeing, making this a tranquil place to enjoy the fresh air and natural beauty. The Dajian Mountain Scenic Area features numerous hiking trails of varying lengths and difficulties. From the two trailheads at Tianxiu Temple or Tiandao Ascetic Institute, hikers ascend via stone steps. Due to its geographical advantage, it offers a breathtaking view of the Greater Taipei Basin, with the vast cityscape laid out before you. The surrounding mountains are layered and varied, resembling a traditional ink wash painting. At night, the views of the myriad lights below are stunning, and it provides an exceptional vantage point for viewing the New Year's Eve fireworks at Taipei 101.
