Dajian Mountain Scenic Area Introduction
At an elevation of 460 meters, Dajian Mountain is renowned for its beautiful scenery and is a prominent outdoor hiking destination among the hills of Xizhi, often referred to as the "back garden of Xizhi." Dajian Mountain transforms with the changing seasons, showcasing different charms; in early spring, mountain cherry blossoms bloom, fireflies light up the summer nights, and the late autumn brings vibrant red maple leaves. The surrounding waterfalls, such as Dajian Waterfall, Qidong Waterfall, and Xiufeng Waterfall, are also very captivating, making it a serene place to enjoy the natural essence of the outdoors! The Dajian Mountain Scenic Area features numerous hiking trails of varying lengths and difficulties. From the two trailheads at Tianxiu Temple or Tiandao Qingxiu Monastery, hikers can ascend via stone steps. Thanks to its geographical advantages, the area offers a commanding view of the Greater Taipei Basin with its expansive cityscape. The surrounding mountains are layered and diverse in color, resembling an ink wash painting. At night, the view is adorned with countless lights from homes, allowing for a stunning panorama of over 180 degrees. Additionally, it is an excellent spot to enjoy the New Year's Eve fireworks at Taipei 101.
