Osmanthus Flower Garden is located in Longsheng Village, Shiding District, also known as Osmanthus Village. It sits along County Road 32 and is one of Taiwan's ancient tea regions, situated at an altitude of over 300 meters. Due to the sandy soil and moderate rainfall throughout the year, local tea farmers have historically used osmanthus flowers as a spice for roasting tea, enhancing its value. For every 100 kilograms of tea, 25 kilograms of osmanthus flowers are required, resulting in the planting of numerous osmanthus trees around the tea gardens. After August each year, villagers of all ages gather in the osmanthus forest to collect fresh flowers, creating a unique landscape that is an important memory for local residents. The garden hosts the largest osmanthus ecological farm in the country. The osmanthus season lasts from October to April each year, and the natural ecological resources in Osmanthus Village are abundant, with butterflies flying in spring, fireflies embellishing the flowers in summer, and the fragrance of osmanthus in autumn and winter, making it worthwhile to visit. Currently, in addition to dining and tea tasting, the garden has also planned the establishment of Osmanthus Alley and the Century Osmanthus Trail.

Osmanthus Tea Plantation Introduction

Osmanthus Garden is located in Longsheng Village, Shiding District, and is also known as Osmanthus Village. It is the largest osmanthus ecological farm in Taiwan and one of the oldest tea regions in Taiwan, situated at an altitude of over 300 meters. The soil contains sand and gravel, and rainfall is moderate throughout the year. As early as the 1950s and 1960s, during the peak period of tea production, local tea farmers used osmanthus as a flavoring for roasted tea to enhance its value, requiring 25 kilograms of osmanthus for every 100 kilograms of tea. Therefore, a large number of osmanthus trees are planted alongside the tea gardens. The osmanthus season lasts from October to April each year, and after August, villagers of all ages stroll through the osmanthus forest to collect fresh flowers, creating a unique local landscape that is an important part of the residents' lives. In spring, you can see butterflies flying; in summer, fireflies decorate the flowers; and in autumn and winter, the fragrance of osmanthus fills the air, making it a worthwhile visit. The farm offers specialty dishes that incorporate osmanthus, including signature dishes such as osmanthus drunken chicken, handmade noodles with tea oil, and osmanthus fragrant trotters. Additionally, there are osmanthus stewed dishes and handmade osmanthus cookies available as souvenirs, along with tea brewing services. Besides dining and tea tasting, the Osmanthus Garden has also planned the Osmanthus Alley and the Century-old Osmanthus Trail, attracting many visitors who enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery while tasting fine tea and snacks, spending a leisurely afternoon tea time.
