Tea Town Osmanthus Orchard Introduction
Osmanthus Garden is located in Longsheng Village, Shiding District, and is also known as Osmanthus Village. It is the largest osmanthus ecological farm in Taiwan and one of the ancient tea areas of Taiwan, situated at an altitude of over 300 meters. The soil contains gravel, and the area receives moderate rainfall throughout the year. During the prosperous tea era of the 1950s and 60s, local tea farmers used osmanthus as a spice for roasting tea, enhancing the added value of the tea, with 25 kilograms of osmanthus required for every 100 kilograms of tea. As a result, a large number of osmanthus trees were planted beside the tea gardens. The osmanthus season runs from October to April each year, and after August, people of all ages in the village wander through the osmanthus groves to gather fresh osmanthus flowers, creating a unique local landscape that holds significant memories for the residents. In spring, one can see butterflies flying around; in summer, fireflies illuminate the flowers and grasses; and in autumn and winter, the fragrance of osmanthus fills the air, making it a worthwhile visit. The farm offers specialty dishes all featuring "osmanthus," including signature dishes such as Osmanthus Drunken Chicken, Tea Oil Handmade Noodles, and Osmanthus Pork Trotters, as well as osmanthus braised delicacies and handmade osmanthus cookies as souvenirs. There is also a tea brewing service available. In addition to dining and tea tasting, Osmanthus Garden has planned osmanthus lanes and a century-old osmanthus trail, attracting many visitors who enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery while savoring good tea and snacks, and spending a leisurely afternoon tea time.
