Osmanthus Garden is located in Longsheng Village, Shiding District, also known as Osmanthus Village. Situated along County Road No. 32, it is one of Taiwan's ancient tea-growing areas, located at an elevation of over 300 meters. Due to its sandy soil and moderate rainfall throughout the year, the local tea farmers began using osmanthus flowers as a flavoring for roasted tea during the prosperous tea era of the 1950s and 1960s, enhancing the tea's value. For every 100 kilograms of tea, 25 kilograms of osmanthus flowers would be used, prompting the planting of numerous osmanthus trees beside the tea gardens. After August each year, villagers of all ages traverse the osmanthus forests to gather fresh flowers, creating a unique local landscape and an important memory for the residents. The garden features the largest osmanthus ecological farm in the country, with the osmanthus flowering season from October to April. Osmanthus Village boasts rich natural ecological resources, with butterflies fluttering in spring, fireflies decorating the flowers in summer, and the sweet scent of osmanthus in autumn and winter, making it a worthwhile visit. Currently, Osmanthus Garden is not only focused on dining and tea tasting but also has plans to set up Osmanthus Lane and the Centennial Osmanthus Trail.

Tea Town Osmanthus Orchard Introduction

Osmanthus Garden is located in Longsheng Village, Shiding District, and is also known as Osmanthus Village. It is the largest osmanthus ecological farm in Taiwan and one of the ancient tea areas of Taiwan, situated at an altitude of over 300 meters. The soil contains gravel, and the area receives moderate rainfall throughout the year. During the prosperous tea era of the 1950s and 60s, local tea farmers used osmanthus as a spice for roasting tea, enhancing the added value of the tea, with 25 kilograms of osmanthus required for every 100 kilograms of tea. As a result, a large number of osmanthus trees were planted beside the tea gardens. The osmanthus season runs from October to April each year, and after August, people of all ages in the village wander through the osmanthus groves to gather fresh osmanthus flowers, creating a unique local landscape that holds significant memories for the residents. In spring, one can see butterflies flying around; in summer, fireflies illuminate the flowers and grasses; and in autumn and winter, the fragrance of osmanthus fills the air, making it a worthwhile visit. The farm offers specialty dishes all featuring "osmanthus," including signature dishes such as Osmanthus Drunken Chicken, Tea Oil Handmade Noodles, and Osmanthus Pork Trotters, as well as osmanthus braised delicacies and handmade osmanthus cookies as souvenirs. There is also a tea brewing service available. In addition to dining and tea tasting, Osmanthus Garden has planned osmanthus lanes and a century-old osmanthus trail, attracting many visitors who enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery while savoring good tea and snacks, and spending a leisurely afternoon tea time.
