Taishan Doll Industry Culture Museum Introduction
The promotion of doll culture in Taishan is closely related to the industrial and living history of Taishan in the 1950s. In 1967, the Meining Factory, which produced Barbie dolls, established operations in Taishan, inadvertently creating the impression that "Taishan equals doll manufacturing." Meining dolls have historically accompanied Taishan, and during Taiwan's OEM era, the globally renowned toy company Mattel set up a factory in Taishan. The production of Barbie dolls, from materials to packaging and export, was fully completed in Taishan until 1987. Later, in 2004, the Taishan Doll Cultural Industry Museum was established to showcase the history of the Meining Factory and the changes in Taishan's industry, exhibiting Barbie dolls and related artifacts, along with representative collectible dolls from Europe, America, Japan, and Russia. Each design of doll clothing combines traditional clothing features with innovative fashion elements, making it worth a visit to the museum.
