Taishan Forest Library Introduction
Taishan Forest Library, located within Taishan Cixiu Park, is a red building that symbolizes the vitality and enthusiasm of indigenous peoples. Surrounded by forests and mountain trails, it reflects the indigenous characteristic of coexistence with nature. The library features ample natural light, allowing visitors to enjoy reading in a serene environment filled with greenery. Just a five-minute walk from the library, there is a scenic platform that offers a panoramic view of Taishan city, and it is only a three-minute drive from Mingzhi Road, making it a rare cultural site in the metropolitan area suitable for family visits. The Taishan Forest Library was planned by the Indigenous Peoples Administration of New Taipei City and collaborated with the community to collect books. Currently, it houses approximately 5,000 books categorized into "Picture Books," "Indigenous Literature," "Children's Literature," "Natural Science," "Foreign Picture Books," and "Parenting." Among its most precious treasures are many indigenous children's picture books, including a complete set of Ainu folklore storybooks published by the Japanese government, and it is in the process of collecting indigenous picture books from around the world, aiming to expand children's cultural horizons and cultivate their aesthetic appreciation through a rich collection of literature.
