National Center for Film and Audiovisual Culture Introduction
The National Film and Audiovisual Culture Center, formerly known as the National Film Center and the National Film Archive, is the only administrative legal entity in Taiwan dedicated to the collection of audiovisual assets. It is a formal member of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF) with the mission of enhancing the preservation, research, restoration, and promotion of audiovisual assets, as well as realizing the public accessibility of these assets. The new building of the National Film and Audiovisual Culture Center officially opened in Xinzhuang in January 2022. Its white façade features a curved metal design that embodies a sense of technology and futurism. The shading and barrier design reflect the flow of time. The center's collection includes approximately 20,000 film reels and nearly 400,000 audiovisual artifacts.
