Shanjian Trail Introduction
Shanjian Ancient Trail was paved with granite stone steps in 1997 and named "Scenic Trail," reflecting the government's thinking at that time. In that year, several famous ancient paths in Jiufen were renovated for tourism development, and the old rustic stone steps were replaced with wide and even granite stone steps. When visiting Jinguashi, the Shanjian Road Scenic Trail is a highly recommended attraction. The Shanjian Ancient Trail was an old path that once connected Jiufen and the Shui Nan Dong area, but it gradually declined in usage as roads were opened and fewer people walked it. Built along the mountain road for gold mining, one will pass by the Shui Quan Bridge (also known as Golden Bridge), and beside the bridge, there is a secret garden known only to locals, which is not easy to find, evoking a sense of nostalgia while walking. The trail is located on the eastern side of Keelung Mountain, and nearby, there are many stone mountain bed and breakfast settlements. Walking down this trail, one can have a distant view of the Yin Yang Sea, and the entire journey takes about two hours.
