Shanjian Road Trail Introduction
The Mountain Peak Ancient Trail was paved with granite stone steps in 1997 and named the "Tourist Walking Path," reflecting the government's policy-making mindset at that time. In that year, several famous ancient paths in Jiufen were renovated for tourism development, and the original rustic stone steps were replaced with wide and flat granite steps. When you arrive at Jinguashi, the Mountain Peak Tourist Walking Path is a must-visit attraction. The Mountain Peak Ancient Trail was once an ancient path connecting Jiufen and the ShuiNanDong area, which gradually fell out of use as fewer people walked it after the construction of roads. Built along the gold mining mountain road, it passes by the Water Ditch Bridge (also known as the Golden Bridge), and next to the bridge, there is a secret garden known only to locals, which is not easy to find, evoking a sense of nostalgia as you walk. The path is located on the eastern side of Keelung Mountain, and alongside the ancient trail, there are many stone houses in the nearby villages. As you walk down this path, you can enjoy a distant view of the Yin Yang Sea, and the entire journey takes about two hours.
