Shanjian Road Trail Introduction
The Shanjian Old Trail was paved with granite stone steps in 1997 and named "Tourist Trail," reflecting the government's thinking at that time. In that year, several famous old trails in Jiefen were refurbished to develop tourism, replacing the original quaint stone steps with wide and smooth granite paths. When visiting Jinguashi, the Shanjian Road Tourist Trail is a recommended attraction. The Shanjian Old Trail was once a path connecting Jiufen and the Shui Nan Dong area, but it gradually declined as few people walked it after the road was established. Built along the mountain road used for gold mining, it passes by the Shuizun Bridge (also known as the Golden Bridge), and next to the bridge is a secret garden known only to locals, which is not easy to find, evoking a contemplative nostalgia. The trail is located on the eastern side of Keelung Mountain, where many homestays in the Shihshan neighborhood are situated. Walking down this path, you can enjoy a distant view of the Yin Yang Sea, and the entire journey takes about two hours.
