Shanjian Road Trail Introduction
The Shan Jian Ancient Trail was paved with granite stone steps in 1997 and named the "Tourist Trail," reflecting the government’s policy mindset at the time. In that year, several famous ancient paths in Jiufen were renovated to promote tourism, and the original rustic old stone steps were replaced with wide and smooth granite paths. When visiting Jinguashi, the Shan Jian Road Tourist Trail is a highly recommended attraction. The Shan Jian Ancient Trail was once a path connecting Jiufen and the Shui Nan Dong area, but it gradually fell into disuse as less people walked it due to the construction of roads. Built along the mountain path used for gold mining, it passes over the Shuizun Bridge (also known as the Golden Bridge), and beside the bridge, there is a secret garden known only to locals, making it hard to find and evoking a sense of nostalgia. The trail is located on the east side of Keelung Mountain, and there are many guesthouses in the Shishan Li area along the ancient trail. Descending along the trail, visitors can enjoy a distant view of the Yin Yang Sea, with the entire walk taking about two hours.
