Wengshan Ying's Former Residence (Jiufen Teahouse) Introduction
When Jiufen, the former gold mining town, once again attracts the world's attention, the emergence of the first cultural tea house in Jiufen not only introduces tea house culture but also ignites the trend of "having tea in Upper Jiufen." Driven by a competitive spirit, numerous peers have followed suit, leading this small mining settlement to host over twenty uniquely characterized tea houses. The former residence of Weng Shan-Ying now serves as a tea house in Jiufen, generally maintaining its original spatial layout. The building itself is a mix of stone and wooden structure, appearing quite simple from the outside, with a first floor in the front and a second floor in the back. The interior space largely retains its original appearance, featuring a rich variation of spatial arrangements that preserve the traditional architectural layout. The current repairs reflect much ingenuity in space utilization; while retaining original features, they also enhance the flexibility exhibited by the building itself. Although this residence has a history of over a hundred years, it still showcases its unique charm.
