Weng Shan-Ying's Former Residence (Jiufen Tea House) Introduction
When Jiu Fen, the former golden mountain town, once again attracts the attention of the world, the emergence of the first art tea house in Jiu Fen not only introduces the tea house culture but also ignites the trend of "drinking tea at Jiu Fen." Driven by a competitive spirit, numerous similar establishments have emerged, resulting in over twenty unique tea houses sprouting in this small mining settlement. The former residence of Weng Shan-ying now serves as a tea house in Jiu Fen, largely maintaining its original spatial layout. The building itself is made of stone mixed with wood, appearing simple on the outside, with one floor in the front and two floors at the back. The interior space generally retains its original appearance, with a rich variety of spatial changes, preserving the traditional architectural layout. The recent repairs have incorporated many thoughtful uses of space, preserving its original features while enhancing the flexibility exhibited by the building itself, allowing this residence, despite its over a century of history, to still showcase its unique charm.
