Weng Shan Ying Former Residence (Jiufen Tea House) Introduction
When Jiufen, the former gold mining town, once again attracts the world's attention, the emergence of the first arts and tea house not only introduces tea house culture but also ignites the trend of "drinking tea in Jiufen." Under the psychological influence of "not losing out to others," the subsequent competitors have all made their best efforts, resulting in this small mining settlement being home to more than twenty uniquely themed tea houses. The residence of Weng Shan Ying is now used as a tea house in Jiufen, generally maintaining the original spatial layout. The building itself is a combination of stone and wooden structure, appearing modest from the outside, with one floor in front and another in the back. The indoor space largely retains its original appearance, with rich spatial variations while preserving the layout of traditional architecture. The current renovations involve clever usage of space, preserving the original characteristics while enhancing the flexibility shown by the architecture, allowing this house, despite its more than one hundred years of history, to still exude its unique charm.
