Wengshan Ying Residence (Jiufen Teahouse) Introduction
As the former golden mountain city of Jiufen once again attracts the attention of the world, the emergence of the first cultural tea house in Jiufen not only introduces tea house culture but also ignites the trend of "drinking tea in Upper Jiufen." Under the influence of the mindset of "not losing to others," many businesses followed suit, resulting in over twenty tea houses, each with its own unique characteristics, emerging from this small mining settlement. The former residence of Weng Shanying now serves as a tea house in Jiufen, largely maintaining its original spatial layout. The building itself is constructed of stone and mixed wood, appearing simple on the outside, with the front being one floor and the back being two floors. The interior space generally retains its original appearance, with rich spatial variations that preserve the traditional architectural layout. The current renovations showcase thoughtful use of space, maintaining original features while also enhancing the flexibility of the building itself, allowing this residence, despite its more than a hundred years of history, to still display its unique charm.
