Weng Shan Ying's Former Residence (Jiufen Tea House) Introduction
As the former gold mining town of Jiufen once again attracts global attention, the emergence of the first cultural tea house in Jiufen has not only introduced tea house culture but also sparked the trend of "drinking tea in Jiufen." Under the psychological influence of "not losing in competition," many similar establishments have sprung up, leading to the emergence of over twenty uniquely themed tea houses in this small mining settlement. The former residence of Weng Shanying now serves as a tea house, generally maintaining its original spatial layout. The building itself is a stone structure mixed with wood, appearing simple on the outside, with one floor in the front and a second floor in the back. The interior space largely retains its original appearance, showcasing a rich variety of spatial changes while preserving the traditional architectural layout. The existing renovations incorporate many innovative ideas for space utilization, maintaining original characteristics and enhancing the flexibility of the building itself. Despite having over a hundred years of history, the residence still exhibits its unique charm.
