The Indigo Dyeing Visitor Service Center was completed by the New Taipei City Government’s Urban and Rural Development Bureau in early September 2010. To align with the theme of the Indigo Dye Park, the center integrates indigo dyeing elements with tourist service functions. It is currently operated by the Vibrant Sanxia Volunteer Team, which has established the Vibrant Sanxia Experimental Dyeing Workshop dedicated to promoting indigo dyeing culture. The main exhibition focuses on the history of the indigo dyeing industry in Sanxia, illustrated explanations of dyeing processes, demonstration teaching areas, and information on indigo dyeing works. Additionally, it includes a venue for selling indigo dye products, indigo dyeing technique experiences, providing tourist service consultations, displaying local small farmers' products, and promotional materials, as well as screening videos about Sanxia’s culture. The center also conducts workforce training programs for the indigo dyeing industry, offering courses on indigo dyeing skills, Sanxia cultural and ecological tours, and the San-Ying Walking Festival, enhancing tourists’ understanding of Sanxia culture, diversifying local street services, and creating tourism appeal for the town.

Indigo Dyeing Visitor Center Introduction

The indigo dyeing tourist service center was completed in early September 2010 by the Urban and Rural Development Bureau of New Taipei City Government. To align with the theme of the Indigo Dyeing Park, it integrates indigo elements and tourist service functions, establishing the "Indigo Dyeing Tourist Service Center." It is currently managed by the Vigor Sanxia Volunteer Team, which has set up the Vigor Sanxia Experimental Dye Workshop, dedicated to promoting indigo dyeing culture. The main display focuses on the history of indigo dyeing industry in Sanxia, diagrams explaining the dyeing process, demonstration teaching area, and explanation area for indigo dyeing works. Additionally, it features a selling area for indigo dyeing products, hands-on indigo dyeing experiences, tourist service consultations, local agricultural products, promotional materials displays, and videos showcasing the culture of Sanxia. Furthermore, as part of a workforce development program for the community indigo dyeing industry, courses on indigo dyeing techniques, cultural and ecological tours of Sanxia, and the Sanxia Walk Festival are offered to enhance tourists' understanding of Sanxia culture, diversify local services in the old street, and create tourism appeal for the town.
