Indigo Dyeing Visitor Center Introduction
The Indigo Dyeing Visitor Service Center was completed in early September 2010 by the Urban and Rural Development Bureau of New Taipei City Government. To align with the concept of the indigo dye park, it integrates indigo dye elements with visitor service functions. It is currently operated by the Vibrant Sanxia Volunteer Team, which has established the Vibrant Sanxia Experimental Dyeing Workshop, dedicated to promoting indigo dyeing culture. The main展示 features include the history of the Sanxia indigo dye industry, illustrated explanations of dyeing processes, a demonstration teaching area, and an explanation area for indigo dye works. Additional areas serve as exhibition and sales points for indigo dye products, provide indigo dyeing technique experiences, offer visitor service consultations, display local farmers' products and promotional materials, and play films showcasing Sanxia's culture. Moreover, community initiatives include a training program for the upstream and downstream workforce of the indigo dye industry, offering courses in indigo dyeing techniques, guided tours of Sanxia's cultural, historical, and ecological environment, and the San-Ying Walking Festival, enhancing visitors' understanding of Sanxia's culture and diversifying local services in the old street, thus creating the charm of town tourism.
