Galaxy Cave Hiking Trail Introduction
The newly popular Instagram spot, Yinhe Cave in Xindian, New Taipei City, features a small temple enshrining Guanyin, nestled within the mountain wall. Coupled with a waterfall cascading nearby and surrounded by lush greenery, it creates an ethereal, fairy-tale atmosphere that draws travelers. Exploring Yinhe Cave, located upstream of Meiziliao Creek, is a cavern formed by the indented mountain wall. Visitors can enjoy the view of the waterfall and ferns from the temple's balcony and take a moment to rest on the stone tables and chairs amidst the tranquil mountain forest. Additionally, travelers might consider passing through the small temple to reach the back, where the Lü Dongbin Temple is located, allowing for close encounters with the waterfall and the refreshing mist it brings. The Lü Dongbin Temple is said to be based on the legend of footmarks of Lü Xianzu found on a rock above the waterfall, paired with the footprints at Jingmei Fairy Footprints Rock, leading to the construction of the Lü Dongbin Temple here, further adding a layer of mystery to the mountain sanctuary. Transportation guide: Travelers can take a bus to "Yinhe Cave Station" or "Zhongsheng Qiaotou Station" and then walk for about 10 minutes to reach the entrance of the Yinhe Cave Ridge Trail. It takes approximately 30 minutes to walk to Yinhe Cave from the trail. If fitness allows, hikers can extend their journey by walking from the Yinhe Cave Ridge Trail to the Maokong Gondola station, making for a fulfilling day trip!
