Galaxy Cave Trail Introduction
The Instagram sensation, Yinhe Cave in New Taipei City’s Xindian district, features the most unique sight of a small temple dedicated to Guanyin, embedded into the mountain wall. This, along with the waterfall cascading beside it and the lush greenery surrounding the area, creates an ethereal, fairy-tale scene, making it a dreamy destination for travelers. Yinhe Cave is located upstream of the Meiziliao Creek and is formed by the concave mountain wall. Visitors can enjoy views of the waterfall and ferns from the temple balcony, and also take a moment to relax on the stone tables and chairs while savoring the serene mountain atmosphere. Additionally, travelers can pass through the small temple to reach the Lü Dongbin Temple behind it, where they can get close to the waterfall and enjoy the refreshing mist it brings. The origin of Lü Dongbin Temple is said to be linked to the footprints of Lü Zhenren found on a rock above the waterfall, paired with the footprints on the nearby scenic rock, leading to the construction of the temple, thus adding a layer of mysterious legend to this mountain paradise. Transportation tips: Travelers can take a bus to "Yinhe Cave Station" or "Zhongsheng Bridge Head Station" and then walk for about 10 minutes to reach the trailhead of the Yinhe Cave Trail. A hike up the trail takes approximately 30 minutes to arrive at the enchanting Yinhe Cave. For those with sufficient strength, it’s also possible to hike from the Yinhe Cave Trail to the Maokong Gondola Station, making for a fulfilling day trip!
