Galaxy Cave Hiking Trail Introduction
In New Taipei City’s Xindian District, the hidden gem known as the Yinhe Cave has become a popular spot for Instagram check-ins. The most unique sight here is a small temple dedicated to Guanyin, nestled into the mountainside, accompanied by a waterfall cascading nearby and surrounded by lush greenery, creating an ethereal, fairy-tale scenery that captivates travelers' hearts. Exploring Yinhe Cave, located upstream of the Meiziliao Stream, reveals a cave formed by a concave mountainside. Visitors can admire the waterfall and ferns from the temple's balcony or take a break at the stone tables and chairs to enjoy the tranquil forest atmosphere. Additionally, travelers can pass through the small temple to reach the nearby Lü Dongbin Temple, where they can get a closer view of the waterfall and relish the refreshing mist it produces. The origin of the Lü Dongbin Temple is said to be linked to footprints of the deity Lü, found on a rock above the waterfall, complementing footprints at the nearby Jingmei Fairy Rock, thus contributing a layer of mystical legend to this mountain paradise. Transportation Tips: Visitors can take a bus to "Yinhe Cave Station" or "Zhongsheng Bridge Station," followed by a 10-minute walk to the entrance of the Yinhe Cave Trail. Hiking the trail will take approximately 30 minutes to reach the dreamlike Yinhe Cave. For those who are physically able, it is also possible to hike from Yinhe Cave Trail to the Maokong Gondola Station, making for a fulfilling day trip!
