Trail No. 6, Daken Introduction
Dakeng Scenic Area ~ Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important recreational place for the people of Taichung City, a destination for hikers to enjoy nature and exercise, and a popular tourist attraction in central Taiwan. On regular days and weekends, you can often see enthusiasts exploring the area together with family and friends, making it a shared garden for the citizens of Taichung. The most distinctive feature of this area is its 13 hiking trails. Trails No. 1 to 8 were opened in the early years of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in 1981, constructed according to the natural terrain interspersed with Dakeng Mountain and the streams, with the highest point being Touke Mountain, which reaches an elevation of 859 meters. Trail No. 9 was opened in December 2005, Trail No. 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail No. 9-1 was completed in November 2013. Trail No. 6 has a length of approximately 1.7 kilometers, making it suitable for people of all ages. There are two entrances to the trail: one can climb from Songzhu Road via the industrial road to the parking lot of Trail No. 6, while the other enters from Guangxi Lane directly to Guanyinting and then follows the trail up. Characteristics: This trail has a gentle slope and the endpoint leads to Fengdong Stone Park, where one can enjoy a panoramic view of Fengyuan District and the eco-friendly chimney in Houli District of Taichung City. Along the way, there is a Guanyin Pavilion with a white Guanyin statue standing within, attracting many visitors for worship. There are also a children's playground and pavilions.
