Dakeng No. 6 Trail (Closed) Introduction
Due to the heavy torrential rain brought by Typhoon Danas in July this year and the southwest airflow on July 28, disaster recovery projects will be carried out. To avoid any danger, this hiking trail has been closed, and the public is requested not to visit during the maintenance period. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Dakeng Scenic Area - Hiking Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important recreational place for the citizens of Taichung City to find peace of mind. It is also a popular spot for hikers to enjoy nature and exercise, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in central Taiwan. On regular days or holidays, you can often see groups and families enjoying the scenery, making it a shared backyard for the residents of Taichung City. The most distinctive features of the area are the 14 hiking trails. Trails No. 1 to 8 were opened in the early 1980s, built according to the natural terrain of Dakeng Mountain and the streams, with the highest elevation reaching 859 meters at Touku Mountain. Trail No. 9 was developed in December 2005, Trail No. 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail No. 9-1 was completed in November 2013. Trail No. 6 has a length of about 1.7 kilometers and is suitable for people of all ages. There are two entrances: one can access the trail via the industry road leading to Parking Lot No. 6 along Songzhul Road, while the other entrance is from Guangxi Lane directly to Guanyin Pavilion, then following the trail upwards. Special Feature: This trail has a gentle gradient and ends at Fengdongshi Park, where visitors can have a panoramic view of the Fengyuan area and the environmental chimney in Houli District, Taichung City. Along the way, there is a Guanyin Pavilion where a white Guanyin statue stands, attracting many visitors for worship. Additionally, there is a children's playground and pavilions available.
