Dakeng Trail No. 10 Introduction
Due to the impact of wind disasters, the section from 0K+000 to 1K+000 will be closed until June 30, 2025. Access is prohibited during the closure period to avoid danger. Dakeng Scenic Area - Hiking Trail Guide: Dakeng Scenic Area is an important leisure spot for Taichung residents to find peace of mind, as well as a popular destination for hikers and exercise enthusiasts. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in central Taiwan. On normal days and holidays, you can often see friends and families enjoying their time together, making it a shared backyard for the citizens of Taichung. Among its most distinctive features are the 13 hiking trails. Trails No. 1 to No. 8 were established in the early 1980s, built according to the natural terrain where Dakeng Mountain intersects with streams, with the highest elevation reaching 859 meters at Touyou Mountain. Trail No. 9 was developed in December 2005, Trail No. 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail No. 9-1 was completed in November 2013. Trail No. 10 has a length of approximately 1.2 kilometers, suitable for outdoor teaching and family activities. The trailhead is located directly across from the Jingpu Parking Lot on Jingpu Road, just walk straight towards Jiujiao Bridge. Highlights: This trail features five areas, including a bamboo forest trail, acacia forest path, bougainvillea flower zone, taro ecology area, and a rocky mountain peak, all of which are ecologically rich and have explanatory signs. The trail surface consists of wooden block gravel paths, natural dirt paths, and wooden stairways, as well as viewing pavilions and platforms for resting.
