Dakeng No. 10 Trail Introduction
Dakeng Scenic Area – Mountain Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important leisure place for the citizens of Taichung to find peace of mind, as well as a popular spot for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. It has become a well-loved tourist destination in central Taiwan. On normal days and holidays, you can always see groups of friends and families enjoying the area together, turning it into a shared backyard for Taichung citizens. The most distinctive feature of the area is its 14 mountain trails. Trails 1 to 8 were opened in the early 1980s, built based on the natural terrain interspersed with Dakeng Mountain and streams, reaching the highest point of 859 meters at Touku Mountain. Trail 9 was developed in December 2005, while Trail 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail 9-1 was completed in November 2013. Trail 10 is approximately 1.2 kilometers long, suitable for outdoor teaching and family activities. Trailhead: Proceed straight from the parking lot at Gengbu to the opposite side of Jiujiao Bridge. Features: This trail includes five areas: Bamboo Forest Trail, Acacia Forest Trail, Bougainvillea Flower Area, Taro Eco-Region, and Cliff Summit, all rich in ecology, with interpretive signs set up throughout. The path consists of wooden beam gravel trails, natural dirt trails, and wooden step paths, along with scenic pavilions and platforms for resting.
