Dakeng No. 10 Trail Introduction
Dakeng Scenic Area - Hiking Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important recreational spot for the residents of Taichung City, serving as a place for spiritual calmness as well as a venue for hiking and fitness activities. It is also one of the popular tourist attractions in Central Taiwan. On regular days and holidays, you can often see groups of enthusiasts and families enjoying the scenery, making it a common backyard for Taichung City residents. The most distinctive features of the area are its 14 hiking trails. Trails No. 1 to No. 8 were opened in the early 1980s, constructed based on the natural terrain formed by Dakeng Mountain and the streams, with the highest elevation reaching 859 meters at Touke Mountain. Trail No. 9 was opened in December 2005, Trail No. 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail No. 9-1 was finished in November 2013. Trail No. 10 has a length of approximately 1.2 kilometers, making it suitable for outdoor teaching and family activities. Trailhead: Go straight on Jingbu Road across from the Jingbu Parking Lot to the opposite side of Jiuyue Bridge. Features: This trail includes five specific areas: Bamboo Trail, Acacia Trail, Bougainvillea Flower Area, Taro Ecological Area, and Cliff Peak, which are rich in ecology, each equipped with informational signs. The trail surface consists of wooden planks, gravel paths, natural dirt paths, and wooden stairways, as well as viewing pavilions and platforms for resting.
