Dakeng No. 10 Trail (Closed) Introduction
Due to the heavy rains brought by Typhoon Danas in July and the southwestern monsoon on July 28, disaster recovery works will be carried out. To avoid any dangers, the hiking trails have been closed, and the public is requested to refrain from visiting during the renovation period; we apologize for any inconvenience caused. Dakeng Scenic Area – Hiking Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important recreational spot for the citizens of Taichung, as well as a place for hikers to exercise and enjoy nature. It is one of the popular tourist attractions in central Taiwan, where visitors can often be seen accompanying friends or family, turning it into a shared backyard for the people of Taichung. The most notable feature of this area consists of 14 hiking trails. Trails 1-8 were established in the early 1980s, built according to the natural terrain of Dakeng Mountain and the surrounding streams, with the highest elevation being 859 meters at Touke Mountain. Trail 9 was developed in December 2005, Trail 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail 9-1 was finished in November 2013. Trail 10 is approximately 1.2 kilometers long, suitable for outdoor education and family outings. The trailhead is located directly across from the Jingbu Parking Lot along Jingbu Road, leading up to the 99 Bridge. Features: This trail includes five areas: the Bamboo Trail, Acacia Trail, Bougainvillea Flower Zone, Taro Ecology Zone, and Cliff Peak, all rich in ecology and equipped with informational signs. The path surfaces consist of wooden plank paths, original dirt paths, and wooden stairs, with scenic pavilions and platforms for resting.
