The Lin Chih-Tsung Memorial Hall was originally the residence of Lin Chih-Tsung, built in 1928. It is a typical wooden dormitory structure from the Japanese colonial period. Besides preserving its original architectural features, it also witnesses the development of the city along the Liu River and documents Lin Chih-Tsung's life, creations, and journey. In 2007, Taichung City registered it as a historical building under the name "Lin Chih-Tsung Studio." In 2013, the National Taichung University of Education carried out restoration and repurposing plans, and after repairs, it was opened for free public visits in 2015.
