The Lin Zhi Zhu Memorial Hall was originally the residence of Lin Zhi Zhu (a dormitory), built in 1928, and is a typical wooden dormitory building from the Japanese colonial period. It not only preserves the original appearance of the structure at that time but also witnesses the development of urban areas along the Liu River and records the life and creative journey of Lin Zhi Zhu. In 2007, it was registered as a historical building under the name "Lin Zhi Zhu Studio" by Taichung City, and in 2013, a restoration and reuse project was carried out by National Taichung University of Education. After repairs and preservation, it was opened to the public for free in 2015.
