Taichung Mosque Introduction
The Taichung Mosque is located at No. 457, Dadun South Road, Nantun District, Taichung City. Completed in 1990, it underwent a complete renovation in 2020. It is currently the most Islamic-style building in Taiwan and the only Islamic architectural landmark in central Taiwan. The newly renovated building incorporates colors and elements from the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, featuring a magnificent white dome, two towering minarets, and eleven large archways resembling stone in black and white against a coral orange exterior, making it one of the most beautiful mosques in Taiwan. The Taichung Mosque is grand and solemn, also equipped with environmentally friendly solar power facilities. In 2020, it received the Rooftop Green Energy Contribution Award from Taichung City Mayor Lu Shiow-yen, earning the distinction of being a green energy religious site. It was also selected in 2020 for a commemorative stamp representing Taiwan published by Chunghwa Post. The Taichung Mosque has become a favorite photo spot for photography enthusiasts and tourists.
