Taichung Mosque Introduction
Taichung Mosque is located at No. 457, Dadun South Road, Nantun District, Taichung City. Completed in 1990 and fully renovated in 2020, it is currently the most Islamic-styled building in Taiwan and the only Islamic architectural landmark in central Taiwan. The new design of the building draws inspiration from the colors and elements of the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, featuring a grand white dome, two towering minarets, and eleven large arched gates with a black-and-white stone-like pattern set against a coral orange exterior, making it arguably the most beautiful mosque in Taiwan. The Taichung Mosque is magnificent and solemn, equipped with eco-friendly solar power facilities. In 2020, it received the Rooftop Green Energy Contribution Award from Mayor Lu Shou-Yen of Taichung City Government, earning the honor of being a green energy religious site. It was also selected for the annual postage stamp representing Taiwan published by Chunghwa Post in 2020. The Taichung Mosque has become a popular spot for photography enthusiasts and tourists.
