Taichung Mosque Introduction
The Taichung Mosque is located at No. 457, Dadun South Road, Nantun District, Taichung City. Completed in 1990, it underwent a comprehensive renovation that was finished in 2020. It is currently the most Islamic-style building in Taiwan and the only Islamic architectural landmark in central Taiwan. The newly renovated structure draws inspiration from the colors and elements of the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, featuring a grand white dome, two towering minarets, and an exterior wall in a pink-orange hue adorned with eleven black-and-white striped archways that mimic stone. It is hailed as the most beautiful mosque in Taiwan. The Taichung Mosque combines grandeur and solemnity with environmentally friendly solar power facilities. In 2020, it was awarded the Green Energy Contribution Award by Taichung City Mayor Lu Shiow-yen, earning the honor of being a green energy religious site. It was also selected for the annual postage stamp published by Chunghwa Post to represent Taiwan's image in 2020. The Taichung Mosque has become a favorite spot for photography enthusiasts and tourists from various regions.
