Taichung Mosque Introduction
Taichung Mosque is located at No. 457, Dadun South Road, Nantun District, Taichung City. It was completed in 1990 and underwent a full renovation in 2020. It is currently the most Islamic-style building in Taiwan and the only Islamic landmark in central Taiwan. The newly renovated structure references the colors and elements of the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, featuring a magnificent white dome, two towering minarets, and eleven black-and-white striped arched doorways integrated into the orange-pink exterior, making it one of the most beautiful mosques in Taiwan. The Taichung Mosque is grand and solemn while also equipped with environmentally friendly solar power facilities. In 2020, it received the Rooftop Green Energy Contribution Award presented by Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen, earning the distinction of a green energy religious site. It was also selected in 2020 by Chunghwa Post for its annual stamp representing Taiwan's image. The Taichung Mosque has become a favorite social media hotspot for photographers and tourists alike.
