Yuanman Outdoor Theater Introduction
Fulfillment Amphitheatre is located next to Wenxin Forest Park. In 2001, the city government proposed an innovative construction plan to enhance cultural development by combining park green spaces with a large outdoor theater, aiming to establish a distinctive urban feature. After extensive coordination and active promotion, the amphitheatre was completed in 2006, and the stage roof was built in 2008, managed by the Taichung City Government Cultural Bureau. The theater stage is an outdoor open-type performance space with a maximum width of 51 meters and a minimum width of 40 meters; the depth is 18 meters; the highest point of the roof is 11.5 meters, and the lowest is 9.5 meters. The backstage consists of a reinforced concrete building with a two-story plus one mezzanine, occupying an area of 110 pings, with a total floor space of 247 pings. The audience seating is divided into three tiers, with a total of 6,009 regular seats and 20 seats for people with mobility impairments, accommodating a total of 6,029 seats. If the park’s grassy slope area is opened for viewing, it can hold up to 15,000 spectators. Since its opening on August 5, 2006, excluding the one-year construction period for the roof, the amphitheatre has continuously hosted various cultural and artistic events, becoming the highest quality cultural and recreational public space in Taichung City, encouraging public participation in cultural activities, and promoting the development of the cultural and creative industries with the concept of "cultural economy," transforming Taichung City into the "Vienna of the East."
