Yuanman Outdoor Theater Introduction
The Fulfillment Amphitheatre is located next to the Wenxin Forest Park. Established by the city government in 2001 to enhance cultural development and create urban characteristics, it is a project that combines park green space with a large outdoor theatre. After extensive coordination and promotion, the theatre was completed in 2006, and the stage covering was built in 2008. It is managed by the Taichung City Government's Cultural Affairs Bureau. The amphitheatre features an open-air stage with a maximum width of 51 meters and a minimum width of 40 meters, a depth of 18 meters, and a height ranging from 9.5 meters to 11.5 meters at its highest point. The backstage is a reinforced concrete building with two plus one mezzanine floors, covering 110 ping (approximately 364 square meters) with a total floor area of 247 ping (approximately 817 square meters). The audience seating is divided into three tiers, accommodating a total of 6,009 regular seats and 20 seats for individuals with mobility difficulties, amounting to a total of 6,029 seats. If the park’s sloped lawn area is opened for audience use, it can host up to 15,000 spectators. Since its inauguration on August 5, 2006, the Fulfillment Amphitheatre has continuously held various cultural and artistic events, becoming the highest-quality cultural and recreational public space in Taichung City. It encourages public participation in cultural activities, promoting the cultural and creative industry development based on the concept of "cultural economy," successfully transforming Taichung City into the "Eastern Vienna."
