Bafeng Auntie Temple Introduction
Guma Temple enshrines four goddesses: Yin, He, Li, and Ji. It holds a significant historical position as the origin of "Taiwan's first incense," which is the Xigang incense industry, also known as the "ancestral temple." In the 49th year of the Qianlong era (1784), a villager with the surname Chen discovered a divine ship at the Eighteen Banyan Pond in Zengwen River. The bow of the ship was placed with a decree to inspect the heavens. After discussions among the villagers, they decided to respectfully welcome and enshrine it, leading to the increased manifestation of the divine.
