Qishan Martial Arts Hall Introduction

During Japan's launch of World War II, in order to promote militarism, they not only vigorously advocated for the Japanese national spirit of "Bushido" but also built dojos in various places for Japanese military police and youth to practice judo and kendo, promoting martial arts. The Chishan Budo Hall, built in 1934, is located at the foot of Gushan Park and was constructed in a traditional Japanese temple style. However, as Japanese temples often mimicked Tang Dynasty architecture, the Budo Hall also possesses a strong Tang Dynasty style. In 1994, the Budo Hall was consumed by a fire, and after restoration, the transparent glass canopy could not blend into the existing Japanese architectural atmosphere. At the end of 2014, after a second reconstruction, the Budo Hall finally presented its original historical appearance. It is currently managed by the Chishan Banana City Art Association, with the main building planned as an exhibition space, cultural creative market, thematic lectures, and talent teaching.
