Yuanding Linzibian Police Officer Station (Linyuan Historical Classroom) Introduction
Hidden within the market, the Yuanding Linzi Police Station is also a historical building in Linyuan. Established in the 31st year of the Meiji era (1898) and still standing today, it was once the earliest official agency in the Linyuan area, especially popular due to its location near the bustling market. Built during the Japanese colonial period, the architecture is primarily in the Japanese style, featuring dormitories, a garden, an ancient well, air-raid shelters, and a water tower for practical use. The police station itself is a brick-and-wood hybrid Japanese-style building, which gives visitors the illusion of being in a small Kyoto when photographed. Inside, there are exhibits showcasing local products such as onions and grouper fish, as well as the construction methods of the dormitory. With its distinctly Japanese atmosphere, this location attracts many visitors, especially young people, who come to take photos.
