Yuan Ding Lin Zi Bian Police Station (Linyuan Historical Classroom) Introduction
The original Dinglin Police Station, hidden in the market, is a historical building in Linyuan. Established in 1898 during the Meiji era, it has been a prominent institution in the Linyuan area and is located near a popular market. Built during the Japanese colonial period, the architecture predominantly features Japanese-style residences. The site includes dormitories, gardens, ancient wells, air-raid shelters, and a water tower for practical use. The police station itself is a brick and wood mixed-structure building of Japanese design, evoking a feeling reminiscent of a small Kyoto. Inside, there are exhibits introducing local products such as onions and grouper, as well as information about the construction techniques of the dormitory. Due to the distinctly Japanese aesthetic of the building, many people come here for photography, making it particularly popular among young people.
