Chating Old Trail Introduction

Chating Old Trail is one of the Dashanbei Trail Group, and it was the only route for the ancestors of Dashanbei to transport agricultural products to the urban area of Hengshan Township in the past. Life in the remote mountain areas was tough and making a living was not easy. Locals have a Hakka folk song that sings: "If you have a sister, don't marry her off to Dashanbei, up the steep path and down the heavy load," which indicates the hardships of carrying burdens back and forth on the old trail. Today, it has become a popular destination for hiking and leisure on weekends. The trail is approximately 1 kilometer long, with good conditions and easy to walk. Along the way, there are bamboo groves, pencil cedar trees, and glutinous rice bridges, all of which contain ancient charm. Strolling through, one can listen to the gentle sound of the stream, adding to the serene and elegant atmosphere.
