Daqi Trail Introduction
The Daqidong Ancient Trail is located in the Daxianbei area of Hengshan, Hsinchu (now Feng Township). In the past, residents of Daxianbei traversed this mountain path to reach the Zhudong area in front of the mountain. The stone steps on the ancient trail, covered in moss, are well-preserved, and the beautiful forest along the way, featuring many oil tea trees, citrus trees, and bamboo, has made it a popular family hiking trail in Hsinchu. Every year, during April and May when the oil tea flowers bloom, many people come to admire the "May Snow." Near the mountaintop, a newly added "Cherry Blossom Trail," filled with mountain cherry trees, has made the springtime at Daqidong even more picturesque. While enjoying the flowers, one can also overlook the Yuluo River, Shangping Creek, and the magnificent views of Zhudong and Hsinchu from the viewpoints along the way. Daqidong Ancient Trail Type: Suburban Mountain Trail Difficulty: Low Length: 4.3 kilometers Surface Condition: Stone slabs, stone steps, wooden boardwalks, concrete, asphalt
