Jiuzantou Station Introduction

Jiuzantou Station is located in Hengshan Township and is an important station on Taiwan's Neiwan Line. In the past, it primarily focused on freight services, playing a significant role during the period when the Neiwan Railway was responsible for transporting Asia Cement products and raw materials. As freight volumes gradually decreased, the station shifted to providing tourist services along its transportation route. The name Jiuzantou comes from the nearby Hakka village of Jiuzantou. It is said that local ancestors discovered a giant ancient tree named "Jiuzantou Tree," using it as a landmark, which led to the entire area being named Jiuzantou. With the opening of the Neiwan Line, this name was carried over, becoming today's Jiuzantou Station. The station features a spacious platform and track area and is the only station on the Neiwan Line where trains can pass each other after Zhudong Station. Due to the absence of an overpass or underpass, passengers must directly cross the tracks to reach the platform, which has become a distinctive feature of Jiuzantou Station. Today, the station not only serves as a transportation hub for the local area but also attracts many tourists who come to experience the nostalgic atmosphere of the railway.
