Fangyuan Sea Cow Oyster Harvesting Eco-Tourism Introduction
Fangyuan Intertidal Zone is the last and largest area of original intertidal wetland in Taiwan. The vast and boundless black mud beach pulsates with vibrant ecology and preserves a tradition that has lasted for sixty years, where water buffalo help fishermen collect oysters. It has been registered as an intangible cultural heritage of Changhua County and has developed a unique global “buffalo oyster harvesting” eco-tourism experience, allowing visitors to ride along with water buffalo to delve into the "Cape of Good Hope," immerse in fishing village culture, and feel the rhythm of marine life. This attracts travelers from all over Taiwan and the world.
