Fangyuan Intertidal Zone is the last piece of original and the largest intertidal wetland in Taiwan. The vast and boundless black mud beach is alive with vibrant ecology and preserves the tradition of water buffalo assisting fishermen in oyster harvesting, which has been passed down for over sixty years and is registered as an intangible cultural heritage in Changhua County. It has also pioneered a unique "Sea Buffalo Oyster Harvesting" eco-tourism, allowing visitors to take a ride with the sea buffalo and deeply experience the fishing village culture and the rhythm of marine life.
