Erhlin Jenho Temple Introduction

Renhe Temple in Erlin, Changhua, is a rare Tangshan-style temple designated as a county-level historic site and is one of the oldest Matsu temples. It is said to have been established in the early years of the Qianlong reign and was rebuilt in 1782 (the 47th year of Qianlong). The temple connects with the street houses and faces south. After several renovations, it reached its current scale in 1815 (the 20th year of the Jiaqing reign). It was also restored in 1925 (the 14th year of the Taisho era) and in 1961 (the 50th year of the Republic of China), resulting in the present appearance of the temple. Those in the know can see the intricacies.
