Wu Chao-hsun Calligraphy Museum Introduction
Lukang promotes itself with the three highlights of "abundant historical sites, numerous cultural artisans, and a variety of snacks." Strolling through its streets and alleys, visitors can witness the cultural heritage of "calligraphy and painting," which is essential in daily life. The talented calligrapher Wu Chao-hsun, who uses the courtesy name Dunben and the pseudonym Wanhao Sanren, narrates that calligraphy is rooted in the development of written language, expressing thoughts and emotions with an Eastern sentiment. It combines the beauty and emotional aspects of visual arts characterized by its long history and vibrant forms, connecting the spirit with the beauty of nature. For thousands of years, the Han people have immersed themselves in the vast and limitless world of calligraphy. Wu believes that calligraphy is both an "art" and a "way." In 2005, he was awarded the Special Excellence Award by the Presidential Office for the New Year Calligraphy event in the social group category.
