Wu Chao-Hsun Calligraphy Museum Introduction

Lukang promotes itself with the three highlights of "many historical sites, many cultural artisans, and many snacks." Strolling through the streets and alleys, one can witness the indispensable cultural heritage of "calligraphy and painting." The talented artist from Lukang, Mr. Wu Zhaoxun, also known by his courtesy name Dunben and nickname Wanhao Sanren, describes calligraphy as conveying thoughts and emotions with an Eastern flair through the development of written language. It is a visual art that combines the beauty and emotions of life with the changes of form, a tradition that has been passed down for thousands of years, allowing the Han people to immerse themselves in the vast and infinite world of calligraphy. He expresses that calligraphy is both an "art" and a "way." Mr. Wu was also awarded the Excellence Award in the Social Category of the Presidential Office's New Year Calligraphy Event in 2005.

The various lively styles of calligraphy on display in the museum showcase the strength and beauty of the art form, allowing visitors to experience the emotional depth and spiritual essence of calligraphy.
