Wu Chao-Hsun Calligraphy Museum Introduction

Lukang is primarily promoted with the highlights of "many historic sites, many cultural craftsmen, and many snacks." Strolling through the streets and alleys, one can encounter the essential cultural heritage of "calligraphy and painting." The talented teacher Wu Zhaoxun, with the courtesy name Dunben and alias Wanhao Sanren, describes calligraphy as a reflection of the development of written language, conveying Eastern sentiments of thoughts and emotions. It embodies a visual art that combines beauty and emotion, showcasing the splendid and vibrant variations of calligraphy while connecting the heart with the natural world. For thousands of years, the Han people have immersed themselves in the vast and boundless world of calligraphy, expressing that calligraphy is both "art" and "way." In 2005, the teacher was also awarded the Excellence Award from the Presidential Office’s Spring Calligraphy Society in the social category.

The various lively styles of calligraphy displayed in the museum showcase the strength and beauty of the art form, allowing one to savor the beauty of calligraphy with a blend of emotion and spirit.
