Li Binggui (1949-), the son of Songlin Shizhi, is the only descendant among the five sons of the Li family who has inherited the craft, and he has won the Global Chinese Arts Inheritance Award.

Li Songlin, known as "Songlin Master" (1907-1999), was an artist from a traditional wood carving family, originally from Yongchun, Fujian. During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, his great-grandfather, Li Kejiao, crossed the sea to Taiwan to participate in the renovation of Longshan Temple in Lugang, where he subsequently settled.
