Li Bing-Wei (1949-), the son of Songlin Shizhi, is the only descendant among the five sons of the Li family to inherit the craft and has received the Global Chinese Arts Heritage Award.

Li Songlin (1907-1999), known as "Songlin Master," hailed from Yongchun, Fujian. Born into a traditional woodcarving family, his great-grandfather Li Kejiao came to Taiwan during the Daoguang era to participate in the restoration of Longshan Temple in Lugang, where he settled permanently.
