Taiwan Craft Research Institute - Songlin Arts and Carving Center Introduction
Li Songlin, known as "Songlin Master" (1907-1999), was an artist originally from Yongchun, Fujian. He was born into a traditional wood carving family. During the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty, his great-grandfather, Li Kejiao, crossed the sea to Taiwan to participate in the renovation of Longshan Temple in Lugang, and subsequently settled there.
