Futian Tung Tree Viewing Area Trail Introduction
Located on County Road 139 in the East District of Changhua City, accessible by turning off Fuxing Road, this area is home to a large number of tung trees. Every year in April and May, when the tung flowers bloom, walking along the wooden boardwalk surrounded by falling white flowers resembles snow and offers beautiful scenery. The Tung Blossom Trail is a circular path, with the entrance area serving as a water source for the habitat restoration of fireflies. Further ahead is the local herb plant zone featuring species like jasmine and osmanthus. Next is the area of native hardwood trees, including species such as sweet gum, camphor, longan, and betel nut, most of which have been planted by environmental volunteers. On the other side is a linear mountain trail, surrounded predominantly by native Taiwan hardwoods; in addition to tung trees, there are also clusters of fragrant nanmu, acacia trees, and camphor trees. Both trails are suitable for the public to enjoy during the flowering season. Trail length: 1.19 kilometers. Walking time: 0.5 hours. Facilities: parking lot (motorcycles, small vehicles), seating, mobile toilets, information boards, direction signs.
The hiking trail is primarily composed of Taiwan's native trees, including Paulownia, as well as a cluster of fragrant nanmu, acacia forests, and camphor trees.
