Zhaoming Jing Temple - Lover's Temple Introduction
Zhaoming Pure Land Temple (also known as Zhaoming Temple or Lover's Temple) is located on the hillside in front of Junjian Rock in Beitou. Surrounded by mountains, the environment is serene, and the view is expansive, allowing visitors to see the Guandu Plain in the distance. Standing here, one feels a sense of relief and openness. The architecture of the temple is quite unique, with the main shrine resembling a spire, and a dragon perched atop it, giving it a spiritual vibe. The main deity of Zhaoming Pure Land Temple is the "Four-faced Thousand-Hand Avalokitesvara," who is believed to bless health, marriage, brightness, and wealth. In the past, it was also known as the "Lover's Temple" because it featured wax figures of the Cowherd and Weaver Girl! The temple has a very popular wishing area. Visitors can write their wishes on paper or wooden plaques, then pay respects to the Four-faced Thousand-Hand Avalokitesvara and place their wishes into the box beside the deity. Afterward, they can go to the wishing pond, which has six basins representing prayers for love, health, wealth, etc. To make a wish, throw a few coins into the basin corresponding to your desire and hang the wooden plaque on the nearby wishing pavilion as a testament. It is said to be very effective, with worship leading to blessings! The wishing pavilion in the temple square displays the saying, "True feelings are unseen by others; false feelings are known to heaven," reminding lovers to cherish their emotions and not to engage in insincerity, hoping that all lovers in the world can become perfect partners.
