Beitou Park Introduction

Beitou always offers endless cultural, legendary, and storytelling experiences. After arriving at the Xinbeitou MRT station, follow the rising steam of the hot springs, and you'll be greeted by the lush scenic beauty of the hot spring town, which is Beitou Park. Beitou Park consists of urban planning parks numbered 1, 2, 4, 54, and 55, covering an area of 61,129 square meters. The first sight that catches the eye is the entrance fountain, completed in the 98th year (2009), which dances with lights and water according to the music at fixed times each day, injecting new vitality into this culturally rich old Taipei area. Along Guangming Road, passing rare old trees such as the Millettia speciosa and the Fragrant Olive, witness the rich history of Beitou Park, which is about to celebrate its centenary. During your journey, you will also come across the green library built by the Taipei Public Library, emphasizing energy conservation and adding a literary air to Beitou Park. The fountain at the entrance is a favorite for movie filming. Proceeding along the Beitou Stream, you will find the "Beitou Stone," the only stone in the world named after a place in Taiwan, which was produced here, although it is no longer visible today. Climb up the path to the Zhongshan Road side, where besides the Beitou open-air hot spring bath, there is the "Mei Garden," a historical building nominated by Mr. Yu You-ren, currently planned as the Mei Garden Visitor Center by the Taipei City Government's Tourism and Communications Office, providing the most considerate services for visitors. Additionally, the famous Hot Spring Museum, with its Japanese-Western architectural wooden windows and red brick structure, seems to still carry the distinct scent of sulfur, allowing one to appreciate the beauty of the architecture from the Japanese colonial period. Surrounded by gently flowing streams and swaying greenery, it feels like stepping back into the leisurely times of the past. Beitou Park has countless old stories and a variety of flora and fauna, with famous attractions like the Geothermal Valley nearby. So why not plan an intellectual journey to cleanse your body and soul on a weekend? You will surely return filled with memories. Park Locations: 1.
