Beitou Park Introduction

Beitou always offers endless culture, legends, and stories. Upon arriving at the Xinbeitou MRT station, follow the wisps of hot spring steam forward, where the lush scenery of the hot spring town unfolds, which is Beitou Park. Beitou Park consists of urban planning parks No. 1, 2, 4, 54, and 55, covering an area of 61,129 square meters. The first sight that greets you is the entrance fountain completed in 2009, which dances to the music with lights and water jets at fixed times daily, injecting new vitality into this culturally rich old Taipei area. Along Guangming Road, passing by rare old trees such as the Millettia and the Taiwan Acacia, bears witness to the rich history of Beitou Park, which is nearing its centenary. During your journey, you will also pass the green library built by the Taipei Public Library, emphasizing energy conservation, bringing a literary ambiance to Beitou Park. The fountain at the entrance is a popular choice for movie shoots. As you proceed along the Beitou Stream, you will find the "Beitou Stone," the only stone in the world named after a Taiwanese place, which originated from here, though it is no longer seen today. Climbing up the path, you arrive at the Zhongshan Road side, where beside the outdoor hot spring baths, you will find the historical building "Meiting," nominated by Mr. Yu You-ren. It has now been planned by the Taipei City Government's Tourism and Communication Office as the Meiting Visitor Center to provide the most considerate services for visitors, along with the famous Hot Spring Museum, which features a harmonious blend of Japanese and Western architectural styles with wooden window grilles and red brick structures, still seemingly filled with a strong sulfuric scent, allowing you to appreciate the beauty of the architecture from the Japanese colonial era. With the nearby babbling streams and swaying greenery, being here feels like stepping back into the leisurely times of yore. Beitou Park holds countless old stories and various flora and fauna, and surrounding attractions such as the Geothermal Valley await your visit. Why not take the opportunity on the weekend to arrange a cleansing and intellectual trip? You are sure to return full of experiences.
