Beitou Park Introduction

Beitou always offers endless tales of culture, legends, and stories. Upon exiting the Xinbeitou MRT Station, follow the rising steam of the hot springs, and you will be greeted by the lush scenery of the hot spring town—Beitou Park. Beitou Park is composed of urban planned parks No. 1, 2, 4, 54, and 55, covering an area of 61,129 square meters. The first thing you will notice is the entrance jumping fountain, completed in 2009. At fixed times each day, it dances with lights and water in sync with music, injecting new vitality into the culturally rich old Taipei area. Along the side of Guangming Road, you will pass rare old trees such as the Paperbark Tree and the Camphor Tree, witnessing the abundant history of the nearly century-old Beitou Park. During your journey, you will also encounter the Taipei Public Library's first green building, which emphasizes energy-saving and carbon reduction, adding a fragrant ambiance of books to Beitou Park. The fountain pool at the entrance is a popular filming location for movies. Continuing along the Beitou Creek brings you to the world’s only stone named after a place in Taiwan—the "Beitou Stone," which originated here, although it is no longer visible today. Climbing up the path, you arrive at the Zhongshan Road side, where aside from the Beitou open-air hot spring baths, you will also find the historical building "Meiting," nominated by Mr. Yu Youren. This has now been planned by the Taipei City Government's Department of Information and Tourism as the Meiting Visitor Center, providing thoughtful services for visitors. Nearby is the renowned Beitou Hot Spring Museum, featuring a blend of Japanese and Western architectural styles with wooden windows and red brick structures, which seem to still carry the distinctive scent of sulfur, allowing you to appreciate the aesthetic beauty of the buildings from the Japanese colonial era. The surrounding babbling streams and swaying greenery create an atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time. Beitou Park is filled with countless old stories and a variety of plant and animal groups, with nearby famous attractions such as the Geothermal Valley. Taking a trip to relax and rejuvenate on a holiday is highly recommended; you are sure to return home enriched with experiences. Park Locations: 1.
