Beitou Center Village Introduction
beitou_center_new_village is one of the 13 military dependent village preservation areas approved by the Ministry of National Defense, and it is one of the few remaining intact military dependent villages in Taipei City. The development of the center new village's housing is closely related to the Tri-Service General Hospital Beitou Branch (formerly the Japanese garrison hospital's Beitou branch). The complete preservation of various types of dependent housing from different periods, combined with Beitou's unique historical context, hot spring culture, and living memories, makes the center new village an important historical site in Beitou. In 2021, the Taipei Cultural Foundation took over its operation, promoting the preservation and redevelopment of the settlement through space activation and resident programs, facilitating local cultural and historical research, and gradually establishing a culturally rich living space with historical, educational, and knowledge-based elements. The Beitou Center New Village aims to serve as a "Cultural Preservation Base for Military Dependent Villages in Taipei City," connecting resources from the New Beitou area and promoting regional integration, showcasing the diverse and rich community stories of Beitou, bringing new characteristics and highlights to the area.
