Xindian River Riverside Bikeway Introduction
This segment of the bicycle path built along the Yanping Riverside Park, starting from Dadaocheng Wharf, allows visitors to not only enjoy cycling but also visit nearby cultural heritage sites. In this harmonious blend of leisure activities, one can strengthen their bodies while immersing themselves in cultural experiences. Notable cultural and tourist attractions in the vicinity include Dihua Street, Xiahai City God Temple, Lin Liuqing Memorial Puppet Theatre Museum, Taipei Confucius Temple towards Jiuchuan Street, and Bao'an Temple, providing a feast for the senses in terms of culture. Scenic views along the route include the Dadaocheng Wharf Coffee Square, Tangshan Sailboat Landscape, wharf arch bridge, and distant views of the Tamsui River. The route also integrates the Blue Highway, leading cyclists towards Guandu Wharf, and even to Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf and Bali’s left bank, allowing for a variety of riverside recreational activities. After Huashe Bridge, this bicycle path enters the banks of the Xindian River, where several bridges crossing the river lead to the bike paths along the Dahan River. The abundance of surrounding buildings further highlights the value of this riverside park, presenting a sense of "green space in the city." This long stretch of riverside park passes through Yingge, Tucheng, Banqiao, Zhongzheng and Yonghe, and Xindian. From October to March each year, visitors can also enjoy the arrival of migratory geese and protected birds, combining fun with entertainment, fitness, and culinary delights, making for a fulfilling and rich day of cycling activities.
