Baofu Temple Introduction
Yonghe Baofu Temple is primarily dedicated to the worship of Baosheng Dadi (the Emperor of Health). It was established as a branch of Dalongdong Bao'an Temple and has a history of over 200 years, enjoying a flourishing incense offering. It serves as a sacred place for the faithful in the Shuanghe area to pray for peace, blessings, and tranquility. Reconstructed in 2011, the temple features a hipped roof structure, with artistic decorations on the roof, exquisite wooden carvings on the coffered ceiling, stone sculptures on the dragon pillars, and lively paintings on the interior walls, all demonstrating rich cultural and artistic values. The early immigrants in Yonghe were primarily from Quanzhou, and they held a strong faith in Baosheng Dadi. At that time, residents of Yonghe had to walk all the way to Dalongdong Bao'an Temple in Taipei City to worship Baosheng Dadi. The journey was not only long but also challenging, as there were no bridges, and residents had to wade through the water. Therefore, after much effort, the residents of Yonghe finally raised enough funds to build their own temple, leading to the establishment of Yonghe Baofu Temple, which houses the spirit of Baosheng Dadi from Bao'an Temple.
