Baofu Temple Introduction
Yonghe Baofu Temple mainly enshrines Baosheng Dadi (the Emperor of Medicine). It has a history of over 200 years since it was established as a branch of Dalongdong Baoan Temple. The temple is a sacred place for the faithful in the Shuanghe area to pray for peace, blessings, and tranquility. It was rebuilt in 2011, featuring a traditional hip-and-gable roof architectural style. The decorative art on the roof, the wooden carvings in the coffered ceiling, the stone carvings on the dragon columns, and the paintings on the walls within the temple are all vividly crafted and exhibit a rich cultural and artistic value. The early immigrants in Yonghe were primarily from Quanzhou, thus deeply venerating Baosheng Dadi. In the past, residents of Yonghe had to walk to Dalongdong Baoan Temple in Taipei City to worship Baosheng Dadi, which was not only a long journey but also required crossing rivers without bridges. Therefore, the residents of Yonghe managed to raise funds to build their temple, and thus Baosheng Dadi was enshrined at Yonghe Baofu Temple.
