Baofu Temple Introduction
Yonghe Baofu Temple primarily enshrines Emperor Baosheng and has a history of 200 years since being established as a branch of Dalongdong Bao'an Temple. It has a flourishing incense offering and is a sacred place for believers in the Shuanghe area to pray for peace, blessings, and tranquility. The temple was rebuilt in 2011, featuring a traditional double-eaved, hip roof architecture. The decorative cut flower art on the roof, the coffered ceiling wood carvings inside, the stone sculptures of dragon pillars, and the paintings on the interior walls are all vivid and meticulously crafted, showcasing rich cultural and artistic value. The early immigrants of Yonghe were primarily from Quanzhou, and they were devoted to Emperor Baosheng. At that time, residents of Yonghe had to walk to Dalongdong Bao'an Temple in Taipei to worship Emperor Baosheng, which was not only a long journey but also required fording rivers due to the lack of bridges. Therefore, the residents of Yonghe pooled their resources to finally raise funds for building a temple, thus allowing the deity of Bao'an Temple, Emperor Baosheng, to be enshrined in Yonghe Baofu Temple.
