Huazhong Riverside Park Introduction
From a bird's-eye view, the Xindian River bends at Huazhong Riverside Park, forming a large floodplain. The winding terrain resembles a crescent moon and a boomerang, with expansive flat green grasslands that are perfect for hosting large events. This location is also the best spot for watching sunsets and birdwatching; the park is ecologically rich, with schools of fish foraging in the river and wild birds hopping among the trees. The park offers various children's play facilities with fine sand laid down for safety, and seating is provided around the facilities for parents to relax while ensuring their children's safety, enhancing parent-child bonding. Since 2009, the city government has established the Huazhong Camping Ground here, offering tent and car camping sites for public reservation, making it the first large riverside camping site in Taiwan. When you cycle through the riverside park and pass under Huazhong Bridge, there are stalls set up as rest points for cyclists, offering a variety of Taiwanese snacks and toys; nearby is a bicycle practice area, which provides a safe and comfortable practice ground for children and the general public to safely refine their riding skills, with informative signs available to learn more about basic cycling knowledge and proper riding techniques. It is recommended to review the informational signs and the basic riding guidelines provided on this page before enjoying a carefree cycling experience along the waterfront. After resting, continuing downstream will take you through a shaded tunnel where many people dance and exercise in the mornings, filled with vitality. You don’t have to ride a bicycle to enjoy this area as it also features various sports facilities, such as basketball courts for friendly games and beach volleyball courts where you can sweat it out under the sun and sand in the city. Strolling along the levee path in the morning or at night, under green shade or gentle starlight with a soft breeze, while viewing the sprawling green grasslands below, offers a different charm. Additionally, the entrances of Huazhong Gate 1 and Gate 2 provide spacious parking lots to alleviate city parking issues. Huazhong Riverside Park is conveniently connected to Ma Chang Ting Memorial Park and Youth Park, making it an excellent choice for couples on dates, with many delicious food options available near Youth Park.
