Huachung Riverside Park Introduction
From an aerial view, the Xindian River bends at Huazhong Riverside Park, forming a large floodplain. The winding terrain resembles a crescent moon or a boomerang, showcasing expansive and flat green grassland, which is perfect for hosting large events. This is also one of the best spots to watch sunsets and birdwatching: the park has rich biodiversity, with schools of fish feeding in the river and wild birds jumping among the trees. The park features a variety of children's play facilities, thoughtfully fitted with fine sand for safety. Surrounding the equipment are benches where parents can rest while ensuring the safety of their children's activities, enhancing parent-child interaction. Since 2009, the city government has established the Huazhong Camping Ground here, providing tent and car camping sites for public use, making it the first large riverside camping site in Taiwan. When you ride a bicycle through Huazhong Riverside Park beneath the Huazhong Bridge, there are stalls set up as rest points for cyclists. The stalls offer a variety of Taiwanese snacks and toys. Next to it, there's a bicycle practice area that provides a safe space for beginners to practice different riding skills, with informational signs nearby to help understand basic bicycle knowledge and appropriate riding techniques. It is recommended that you first check the informational signs and the basic riding guidelines provided on this page before enjoying a safe and happy cycling experience by the water. After resting, proceeding downstream will take you through a shaded tunnel where many people come to dance and exercise in the morning, filled with vitality. You don’t have to ride a bike to enjoy this area. There are various sports areas, such as basketball courts, which not only allow a friendly game among friends but also a beach volleyball court where you can sweat it out under the sun on the sand amid the city. Whether strolling along the embankment path in the morning or at night, enjoying the cool shade or a gentle breeze under the starlit sky while looking down at the green pastures, there are different flavors to experience. The entrances at Huazhong Gate No. 1 and No. 2 have spacious parking lots that help alleviate urban parking issues. Huazhong Riverside Park is also near the Machangting Memorial Park and Youth Park, making it a great choice for couples on dates. There are many dining options available near Youth Park as well.
