Peace Grassland Park No. 402, Wanhua Introduction
Park No. 402 is located at the intersection of Mengjia Avenue and Xiyuan Road, covering an area of 4,693 square meters and slightly shaped like a triangle. The land where the park is situated was originally home to the Renji Hospital and several residences. The surrounding environment was poor, leading to low living quality and negatively affecting the urban landscape. Thus, the city government promoted urban renewal in Wanhua to establish the park, preserving existing healthy trees and improving the surrounding environment through simple green beautification methods, providing grassy areas for public use. The park held its opening ceremony on November 13, 2006. Within the park, on the side adjacent to Xiyuan Road, there is an aromatic and herb garden. Along the park paths next to Mengjia Avenue and between historical buildings, seating is provided, along with a roughly 256-square-meter activity plaza. Shrubs such as blue butterflies and sweet osmanthus are planted connecting the plaza to the building corridors. Additionally, there is a wide grassy area and trees including banyans, fan palms, hackberries, camphor trees, and coconut palms. The shaded trees in the park have become an excellent place for nearby residents to relax, chat, and strengthen community ties.
