Peace Grassland - Wanhua No. 402 Park Introduction
Park No. 402 is located at the intersection of Mengjia Avenue and Xiyuan Road, covering an area of 4,693 square meters, presenting a slight triangular shape. The park's site was originally home to the Renji Sanatorium and residential buildings; the surrounding actual environment was dilapidated, which not only led to poor living conditions but also affected the urban landscape. Therefore, the city government promoted urban renewal in Wanhua to establish the park. In addition to preserving the existing healthy trees and other plants, the park was designed to improve the surrounding environment through simple green beautification methods, providing grassy areas for public use. The park was inaugurated on November 13, 2006. Within the park, there is a fragrance and herb garden on the side facing Xiyuan Road, and along the surrounding paths adjacent to Mengjia Avenue, seating and a roughly 256 square meter activity plaza are installed. Shrubs such as blue butterfly and osmanthus are planted along the corridor connecting the plaza and the buildings. Additionally, there is a spacious lawn area with banyan trees, talipot palms, amorphophallus, camphor trees, and coconut palms. The shaded areas created by the trees have become the best spot for local residents to relax, chat, and connect.
