Peace Grassland - Wanhua No. 402 Park Introduction
Park No. 402 is located at the intersection of Mengjia Avenue and Xiyuan Road, covering an area of 4,693 square meters and has a slightly triangular shape. The park's site was originally the location of the Renji Sanatorium and residential buildings. The surrounding environment was poor, leading to subpar living conditions and negatively impacting the urban landscape. To address this, the city government promoted urban renewal in Wanhua to establish the park. Besides retaining well-established trees and other vegetation, simple green beautification methods were used to improve the surroundings and provide a grassy area for public use. The park officially opened on November 13, 2006. Within the park, there are aroma and herb garden facilities situated near Xiyuan Road, while benches and an approximately 256 square meter activity plaza are located along the path adjacent to Mengjia Avenue, connecting the plaza with the corridor of historical buildings. The area is enhanced with shrubs like blue butterfly and osmanthus, along with a spacious lawn and trees such as banyan, betel palm, parasol tree, camphor tree, and areca palm. The shady trees have made the park a popular place for local residents to relax, chat, and strengthen community bonds.
