Monga Fashion District Introduction
In Wanhua, the well-known Dihua Street in the Mengxia fashion district, located behind Longshan Market, is a must-visit for ready-to-wear clothing. This area is also a hub for wholesalers from various regions to source a wide range of apparel. The Mengxia fashion district emerged due to the early development of Mengxia and the location of Wanhua Railway Station, facilitating easy transportation and trade, thus forming a significant clothing marketplace. In the earlier days, there were nearly 2,000 various clothing stores here, with operations spanning design, sampling, production, and marketing, offering competitive quality and prices. However, due to changing times, the fashion district now has only about 400 stores remaining, with a focus on mature women's clothing, which makes up about 80% of the shops. About 10% are children's clothing, along with custom team uniforms, while men's clothing has become increasingly scarce, often being combined with team wear, contrasting significantly with Wufenpu's younger female and lively style. On weekdays, the area is bustling with trucks replenishing stock and wholesalers' vehicles, while some customers come specifically to hunt for treasures, as the variety of clothing and accessories can be overwhelming.
