Monga Fashion District Introduction

In Wanhua, behind Longshan Market, the famous Dali Street Mengjia Fashion District is a must-visit for ready-made clothing, serving as a hub for wholesalers from various places to source a wide range of apparel. The formation of the Mengjia Fashion District can be traced back to the early development of Mengjia, coupled with the convenient location of the Wanhua Train Station, which facilitated transportation and trade, resulting in a large garment market. In its early days, there were nearly 2,000 various clothing stores, offering a complete operation from design, pattern-making, production to marketing, with quality and pricing being highly competitive. However, due to changes over time, the fashion district now houses about 400 stores, with a majority—approximately 80%—focused on mature women’s clothing, while the remaining 20% includes children’s clothing and custom team apparel, with men’s clothing becoming increasingly scarce and often combined with team apparel. This area significantly differs from Wufenpu, which targets young women with a lively style. On weekdays, the streets are bustling with trucks delivering goods and wholesalers, as well as some customers specifically coming to hunt for treasures, with an array of clothing and accessories that can easily overwhelm the senses.
