Chi Li Art Introduction

"Ten years" is a concept of time that translates to 3,650 days when calculated in days, or 87,600 hours when converted to hours. If measured in minutes, it amounts to 5,256,000 minutes, representing an immense numerical concept. ChiLi Art has traversed this lengthy decade, reflecting on the past with a sincere and multifaceted approach to expand its artistic vision. This decade represents the persistent ideals of a gallery and is undoubtedly a result of steadfast dedication. ChiLi Art is located in a tranquil alley on Da'an Road in Taipei. The spatial flow of the gallery exhibits a contemporary and diverse artistic atmosphere, having curated hundreds of classic art exhibitions, encompassing categories from flat ink paintings to three-dimensional sculptures. ChiLi Art extends themes through its curatorial concepts, planning exhibitions for various forms and categories of art. Importantly, in addition to hosting solo and group exhibitions of renowned artists, it also curates exhibitions for new ink artists that reflect current trends in Eastern ink art, aiming to express and portray the cultural context of contemporary ink art in Taiwan. These new generation artists showcase expressions that do not confined to traditional brush techniques and compositions, demonstrating a fresh perspective on ink art. For example, in 2014, ChiLi Art held "Taiwanese Ink and Korean Ink: Two Facets of Contemporary Ink Art" in Taipei. In 2015, it assisted the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Korea in organizing "Macro and Micro: The Phenomenon of Korean and Taiwanese Ink Painting." In the field of abstract art, it curated "Alternative Abstraction, the Intersection of Cold and Hot: Taiwanese and Korean Abstract Art Exhibition," inviting chief researcher Moon Jeong-hee from the Korean Art Research Institute to curate a joint exhibition with notable contemporary ink and abstract artists from Taiwan and South Korea. The motivation behind the curation was to explore the contrasting contemporary ink and abstract art of Taiwan and South Korea, driven by different nationalities and inherent creative impulses. It also aimed to deepen cultural and artistic exchanges between artists and scholars from both countries, providing interaction for galleries, artists, and collectors, stimulating the art market and collection, and creating a more vibrant artistic ecology. The operational philosophy of ten years has allowed ChiLi Art to grow robustly, moving towards academic, contemporary, and international directions. General Manager Chen Hui-chun stated, "It takes ten years to sharpen a sword." Now, facing the economic downturn, despite challenges or setbacks, our passionate ideals will not be extinguished, and we will further develop toward an international framework. The second decade is just beginning… (Source: Non-Pool Art)
