Taipei City Department of Cultural Affairs - City Stage Introduction
Established in 1964, the Taipei City Community Education Center is a well-known cultural and artistic space that primarily aims to promote art and cultural activities. Its open areas consist of a lobby on the first floor and three exhibition halls mainly used for static exhibitions, alongside various music, dance, and theater activities at the Urban Stage and Art Plaza. After renovations were completed in 2003, the performance section was renamed "Urban Stage" and relaunched, transforming into a more professional and modern comprehensive theater that meets the needs of contemporary urban activities. In addition to the main facility on Bade Road, new facilities were built, including the Yanping Activity Center in the Datong District, the Wenshan Branch in Wenshan District, and a Parent-Child Plaza at the City Hall, easing the usage limit of the main center and allowing more people to conveniently participate in community education activities. In 2014, in accordance with the revised organization regulations of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, it was renamed the "Taipei City Arts Promotion Office," with the official inauguration held on November 6, 2015.
