Taipei City Arts Promotion Office - City Stage Introduction
Established in 1964, the Taipei City Social Education Center is a well-known cultural space aiming to promote arts and cultural activities. Its open areas mainly feature a first-floor lobby and three exhibition halls that host static exhibitions, while various music, dance, and theater activities are occasionally presented in the City Stage and Art Plaza. After renovations were completed in 2003, the performance section was renamed "City Stage," embarking on a fresh start as a more professional and modern comprehensive theater, aligning more closely with contemporary urban activity spaces. In addition to the main facility on Bade Road, two more sites were established: the Yanping Activity Center in Datong District and the Wenshan Branch in Wenshan District, along with a Parent-Child Plaza at the City Hall, alleviating the limitations of visitor numbers at the main center and making it easier for more people to participate in social education activities. In 2014, in conjunction with the revision of the Cultural Bureau's organizational regulations, it was officially renamed "Taipei City Arts Promotion Office," formally inaugurated on November 6, 2015.
