Shakouzi Fishing Port Introduction

Within the bustling Taipei Port, where large ships frequently enter and exit, there lies a small fishing harbor that feels like a hidden realm. This place, known as Xia Guzi Fishing Port, is a little-known gem in Bali. Located within the designated area of Taipei Port, it is classified as a Type II fishing port, primarily hosting fishing vessels from nearby Taoyuan and Tamsui. In recent years, the cycling tourism along both banks of the Tamsui River has thrived, with the Bali Left Bank Cycling Path extending approximately 16 kilometers from the mouth of Guanyin Keng Creek to Xia Guzi Fishing Port. The route passes by major sights such as the Guandu Bridge, Bali Ferry Terminal, Wedding Dress Plaza, and all the way to Waziwei Ecological Reserve and the Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology, blending culture, ecology, and historical sites, making it a rare cycling oasis in the urban jungle. At Xia Guzi Fishing Port, in addition to the traditional blue-hulled fishing boats, the port's westward orientation offers one of the best sunset viewing spots. As the sun sets, the view of the serene fishing harbor reflecting the colors of the sea, complemented by the West Coast Highway crossing the port, creates an unexpectedly breathtaking sunset spectacle for visitors to this small fishing harbor.
