Wugu Summer Greenery Introduction
Wugu Summer Greenery boasts a vast 60-hectare expanse of grassy fields. Behind its romantic and fresh reputation is the New Taipei City Government's "Wugu Garbage Mountain Environmental Improvement Project," which transformed what was once a landscape filled with illegal constructions and avoided by all into a beautiful secret haven. It has become a new family-friendly attraction in Wugu and includes the New Taipei City Resource Recycling Education Center, which not only handles recycling materials but also promotes environmental education. For years, Garbage Mountain in Wugu was a dark spot in the area. Through cross-departmental collaboration by the New Taipei City Government, efforts were made to guide industry transformation, dismantle illegal structures, and incorporate sustainability principles and urban aesthetics, turning the previously chaotic garbage mountain into a highly popular eco-park. The park features leisure paths, ecological ponds, and other facilities, earning numerous awards, including the "National Sustainable Development Award," "Outstanding Organization Award for Local Environmental Crime Prevention," and "Taiwan Healthy City and Age-Friendly City Award - Green City Award." With a playful design in pastel colors, Wugu Summer Greenery is themed around "hide and seek," featuring installation art primarily made from concrete pipes, allowing both adults and children to weave through and play inside. Visitors can discover creatively painted artworks within the pipes, ascend the painted stairs to the park's highest point, and enjoy panoramic views of Guanyin Mountain and the Greater Taipei cityscape, overlooking the lush green fields below.
