Wugu Summer Greenery Introduction
Wugu Summer Green Land features a vast 60-hectare expanse of lush green grass. Behind this romantic and refreshing name is the New Taipei City Government's "Wugu Garbage Mountain Environmental Improvement Project," which transformed what was once a chaotic area filled with illegal buildings and avoided by residents into a beautiful hidden gem. It has become a popular family destination in Wugu, and the park also houses the New Taipei City Resource Recycling Education Base, responsible for managing recyclable materials while also promoting environmental education. For many years, Wugu Garbage Mountain was a dark spot in the Wugu area. Thanks to the efforts of the New Taipei City Government's cross-department collaboration, industries were guided to transform, illegal structures were demolished, and sustainable spirit and urban aesthetics were introduced, turning the formerly chaotic garbage mountain into a highly popular eco-park. It features recreational trails and ecological ponds, making Wugu Summer Green Land a recipient of numerous awards, including the "National Sustainable Development Award," "Excellence in Local Efforts Against Environmental Crimes," and "Green City Award" for the Taiwan Healthy City and Age-Friendly City Awards. The park's vibrant scenery is designed with a "hide-and-seek" concept, utilizing concrete pipes as the main feature of the installation art. Adults and children can navigate through these pipes, discovering whimsical artistic paintings within. Climbing the colorful painted stairs leads to the park's highest point, offering breathtaking views of Guanyin Mountain and the Greater Taipei urban landscape, as well as overlooking the sprawling greenery of the expansive grassland below.
