Wugu Summer Greenery Introduction
Wugu Summer Green is a vast 60-hectare expanse of lush grassland. Behind its romantic and refreshing name is the "Wugu Garbage Mountain Environmental Improvement Project," initiated by the New Taipei City Government, which transformed what was once a chaotic area filled with illegal structures that people avoided into a beautiful secret haven. It has become an emerging family-friendly attraction in Wugu. Within the park, there is also a resource recycling education center managed by New Taipei City, responsible for processing recyclable materials while also promoting environmental education. For years, Wugu Garbage Mountain was a dark spot in the Wugu area. Through the collaborative efforts of various departments within the New Taipei City Government, industries were guided to transition, illegal structures were demolished, and a spirit of sustainability and urban aesthetics was introduced, turning the previously chaotic garbage mountain into a highly popular eco-park. With recreational trails and ecological pools among its facilities, Wugu Summer Green has won numerous awards, including the "National Sustainable Development Award," "Local Excellence Award for Combating Environmental Crime," and the "Green City Award" from the Taiwan Healthy City and Age-Friendly City Awards. The vibrant design inspired by macaron color schemes in Wugu Summer Green features a "hide and seek" concept, with installation art made from concrete pipes as the main element, allowing both adults and children to weave in and out of the pipes, discovering uniquely creative artwork within. Visitors can ascend the painted stairs to the park's highest point and enjoy expansive views of Guanyin Mountain and the greater Taipei cityscape, overlooking a vast green grassland below.
