About the Daan Ganchun Distillery Story House The Daan Ganchun Distillery Story House was established in 2014 and is located in the Daan District of Taichung City. In 2019, it launched its own brand, "Anbeis." Its products have not only participated in domestic liquor competitions but have also been sent abroad for international contests, achieving remarkable results such as: - 53% Anbeis Aged White Wine won the Three-Star Award at the International Taste Institute (iTQi) - 16.8% Anbeis Plum Wine won the Two-Star Award at the International Taste Institute (iTQi) - 52% Haiquan Zhenlu won the Two-Star Award at the International Taste Institute (iTQi) - 52% Haiquan Zhenlu received certification from the Ministry of Finance as a quality liquor. In addition to white wine, it also produces many fruit wines loved by women, crafted purely from real fruits, with each fruit wine infused with natural fruit aromas. In 2022, we launched "Gancup" citrus wine, the first fruit-flavored sweet wine developed in collaboration with the government, academia, and industry in Taiwan. This wine is brewed using carefully selected pomelo and tangerines from the Shigang Farmers' Association. The light orange liquid emits a refreshing citrus scent, and its crisp and sweet flavor is beloved by many. When visiting the Daan Ganchun Distillery Story House, you will notice the surroundings filled with wind turbines, a unique landscape of the coastal area. Next to the story house are an ecological park and the Daan Sea Bath. To promote the beauty and cultural history of the coastal area, we also launched the "Jia An Pu" gift box, the most local wine gift that combines local history, landscapes, and products, creating three different flavors of wine. Besides being the best souvenir, we hope these wines will lead you on a light travel experience through Taichung, Dajia, Daan, and Waipu. The Daan Ganchun Distillery's brewing philosophy and persistence Inheriting the brewing wisdom from the older generations, Daan Ganchun has been operating for 20 years using the "pure grain solid-state fermentation distillation" method. We remain honest and steadfast on our own path, ensuring that our wines do not contain artificial alcohol or flavoring, allowing you to enjoy the pure and natural flavors while adhering to slow and labor-intensive brewing methods to produce high-quality locally made Taiwanese liquor. Unlike other large distilleries focused on quantity and sales, we focus on the land and culture of Taiwan, dedicated to promoting local liquor culture. Local people use local crops to brew; we collaborate with Dajia's young farmers for sorghum, Da Ya's surplus wheat, Waipu's small farmers for grapes, and Dongshi's yellow ripe plums, etc. In addition to local ingredients, we meticulously brew each bottle of wine in a slow and labor-intensive manner, continuously experimenting to ensure each type of wine has its unique flavor, allowing every sip to reflect its vitality. At the same time, we hope this ancient brewing craft can take root locally and be passed down, conveying the spirit of the brewing artisan and the local agricultural culture. Visiting the Daan Ganchun Distillery Story House At the story house, you can learn about the ancient solid-state pure grain brewing process and its differences from modern winemaking through guided tours. You can also participate in wine tasting experiences that allow you to explore the layers of different wines through a five-step tasting process, complemented by various snacks to enjoy the flavors further. For groups of ten or more, you can also book a local wine DIY activity, selecting seasonal crop materials along with pure brewed rice wine to experience the fun of brewing your own wine and tasting your exclusive creation.
