Sunset Viewing Guide ■ Every year from June to August, the Hai-Weng Great Swimming Pool (a public pool, not exclusive to hotel guests) is open on Mondays, Wednesdays to Fridays from 8 AM to 5 PM, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 AM to 6 PM, with a break from 12 PM to 1 PM. It is closed every Tuesday for routine maintenance; in case of bad weather such as rain, typhoons, or thunderstorms, it will not be open. Open to: General public Admission: Regular ticket price is $200, discounted price is $100. Free admission for: 1. Infants under 110 cm (must be accompanied by a paying parent) 2. In response to the increasing demand for water recreation activities, the Taichung City Government's Tourism Bureau has conducted a comprehensive assessment of the coastal waters around the Daan Beach area to ensure the safety of the public engaging in water activities. After this assessment and planning, starting from August 1, 2013, the public is allowed to engage in surfing and beach activities, including play on the beach, surfing, and kitesurfing. For safety reasons, swimming is not permitted due to the instability of fecal coliform levels in the coastal waters near Daan Waterfront Park. Nearby Daan Waterfront Park, there are unique attractions in the Greater Taichung area, including the "Mangrove Ecological Park," "Turtle Shell Ecological Park" at the south bank of the Warm Stream River estuary, "Egret Forest," "Daan Water Sedge Ecological Education Park," and "Chef A-Cong's Taro Cultural Museum."
