Huatan Station│Local Train Industrial Tourism Introduction
It is said that there is an interesting story behind the station name change. During the Japanese occupation, a member of the Japanese imperial family took the official train to this station and was quite displeased to hear the stationmaster repeatedly calling out "Qiedongjiao," as it sounded like "inferior guest" in Japanese. After realizing that it was the name of the station and not a deliberate insult, he ordered the inappropriate name to be changed to "Huatan." Upon exiting the station, visitors can see a bike rental station set up by enthusiastic locals, making it convenient for travelers to explore Huatan by bicycle.
